 | Run race (Time Trial) 16:49 [5] 3 km (5:36 / km) vdot: 32.4 | |
| shoes: Saucony Omni |
| Time trial round track. Lack of fitness really showed - oh dear, that was bad. |
 | Fitball (Core strengthening) 1:00:00 [3] | |
| shoes: Saucony Omni |
| What a laugh! Trying to stay balanced on the top of a big squashy ball and keeping a straight face was quite a challenge! |
Thursday Nov 29 |
 | Run hills (Terrain) 1:18:00 [4] 9 km (8:40 / km) | |
| shoes: Saucony Omni |
| Ridge run - first run in Lanzarote on terrain (running over the rocky ridge tops and lava fields was pretty tricky) . Felt absolutely desparate and my knee hurt a lot as this was the longest run for a long time and so had to run through the pain barrier. Others left Kate and I behind in the dark and so we did some plotting as to the consequences of falling down a hole together but we were of course gallantly rescued and made it back to collapse in a heap at the end instead. |

 | Night Orienteering 2:00 [3] 0.15 km (13:20 / km) | |
| shoes: Timberland |
| Continued celebrations well into the night with an impromptu orienteering course set up with six controls complete with electronic punching in the L's garden. The format was a team relay, with four in each team, a dibber and big head torch exchange whilst downing a fast bottle of Becks at the changeover! Black tie was of course compulsory with optional footwear, have to say that Lou was a sight to behold in her ball gown finery complete with wellies and skirt tucked into her knickers! It was all over in 9 minutes. BONKERS or what? |

| Club Champs at Sauchie Crags
It was a cold damp and windy day. I wimped out of the Women's course to do a shorter course (junior girls) due to my recent injuries and to see how they fared on the terrain, they weren?t too bad but my orienteering skills were absolute mince! Over-shot controls by miles due to the 1:7500 scale, also took some pretty dodgy routes due to not being particularly bothered to look at the map or compass, paid far too much attention to where my feet were going and to ducking under low branches - it was a tad on the rough side. Thank you to Gareth for planning and making the map but I enjoyed Jan's hot soup after the run more!

 | Dancing tempo 3:00:00 [3] | |

| Three hours of full-on ceilidh dancing at FVO dinner dance. Nearly passed out on a couple of occasions due to centrifugal force caused by Rosco during strip the willow. Excellent FVO do as usual. I think most seemed to have saved their energy for the dance floor rather than the Club Champs? |
Friday Nov 23 |
 | Swimming 17:57 [4] 0.8 km (22:26 / km) | |
| |
| Thought I'd better make sure I could still swim properly as I'm psyching myself up for the mini-triathlon next week! Did 4 sets of 200m alternate freestyle and breaststroke: 4.04, 4.43, 4.16 & 4.54 before being evacuated from the pool due to an incident! Someone had an "accident" in the pool and it had to be cleaned up! Not sure what the accident was exactly, but was far enough away not to notice - yukk. Lots of recreational swimmers in the way and had to dodge them a lot, don't think I can get away with swimming underneath them nowadays...

 | Night Orienteering 46:00 [4] ** 4.4 km (10:27 / km) | |
| shoes: Walsh |
| Very sensibly re-planned from Dumyat to Hermitage Woods and Uni by Trevor at short notice due to the disgustingly wet weather, thanks to the persuasion of some slightly more sensible types. Mind you, it was still horrible on the lower slippery slopes and then there was the added bonus of some nasty brambles. Lou, Abi and I decided on doing our own girly freestyle courses - missing out the odd control whilst getting spooked along the way... Starting to think we're all a bit nuts!?
It was a good crack in the pub and those veggie burritos are definitely growing in popularity. |

 | Pilates 45:00 [2] | |
| shoes: Bare feet |
| How often do you get to impersonate a seal in the office, good job everyone in the room was having a go or I would have felt a bit silly... getting the hang of pilates and finding new stomach muscles I didn't know I had. |
Sunday Nov 18 |
 | Gardening 1:30:00 [2] | |
| shoes: Wellies |
| Raking leaves from the garden. Filled the brown wheelie bin! Would rather have been orienteering at Errochty but feet too sore - saving them for Wednesday. |

 | Run 40:00 [3] 4.0 mi (10:00 / mi) | |
| shoes: Saucony Triumph |
| Headtorch run in woods and round loch at Uni with FVO girlies, Rosco and Lard. Managed to keep up for a whole 10 minutes before needing a push up the hills. Still feeling slow! Felt quite good on the down hill bits on the soft leaves. Knee still bothering me but Dr Janine and Best Coach Jason diagnosed displaced knee cap and have been doing some exercises to help shift it back. |

| Slow run: walked the steep bits around paths/tracks at Mabie Forest. Sunny but a wee nip from the wind. Great view of Lakes and three buzzards circling around. Feet ok - was cautious on decents. Right knee felt pretty sore but not sure what's wrong with it. |

 | Run 30:00 [2] | |
| shoes: Saucony Triumph |
| Third run after being on the bench for 7 weeks (see injury crisis). Up and over Abbey Craig in the dark with FVO buddies - big headtorches are a must these days. It's amazing what and who you can light up in the dark! Feet not sore - yippee... but bruised legs after falling down a rabbit hole. |
 | Pilates 45:00 [1] | |

| Lunch time activity in the office with pilates instructor and weird heavy breathing from colleagues this week. Good session and feeling it now! |
