| Screel Hill race. First hill race for me ever! Far to nervous and excited at the start and my heart was all over the place... went off very slowly and had to walk or scramble up the steepest and rocky sections. Felt good when I passed a bloke but he didn't like it so he passed me again... It was really muddy and rocky on the ridge and the decents, also lots of tree roots so I didn't get as much speed out of my legs as I would have liked and did a lot of mincing with the brakes on until... I bombed down the last bit of track to make it back under the hour, but only just. Won a bottle of wine but it should have been a wooden spoon!
Saw Colin Gilmour ('KarriGilmour' - Fraser P's old KIMM partner) at the start, still going strong and asking after all who remember him. |

| Run with Nina around Beecraigs in sunshine. This was Nina's first off-road run and I don't think she was very impressed with her once white now brown trainers which were through mud and submerged in bogs for most of the way! At least she has agreed to come back for more - this is good because she does a sub 50 min 10K and she will make me run faster. Today was at a steady pace as I want to be fresh for Screel tomorrow... |

| Walkies! The dog (sister's dog is a big fluffy golden retriever) was stronger than me and I had to run to keep up whilst he was on his lead or I would have been in the air... |

| FVO run from Penny and Steve's house in Limekilns with Dave, Jason, David, Penny, Louise, Abi and Elspeth. As we started from sea level of course the only way was up, although I managed to trip on a stone embedded in a flat bit of path, I couldn't save myself and down I went and skidded along the ground on the gravel, yoweee! Ended up with a few holes in my hands, a huge bruise on my knee, a skinned elbow and hip and slightly tender ribs! Feeling a bit sore today. Dave peeled off shortly after "cardiac hill" to do a shorter route and the rest of us carried on, poor Abi suffered a terrible stitch and went white - must have been a bad one. It was great to be in a different location for a change and to see Penny and Elspeth in good form. |

| Mini-mountaineering expedition to the summit of Dumyat. Stopped for a picnic and had lots of snowball fights on the way up, which made it a very long walk indeed. I ended up carrying snowballs and sheets of ice in a 'rescued' plastic bag back to the car park... had to leave the only slightly melted contents behind, though! It was very cold and windy and we all have red cheeks, hoping they're all tired out for an early night... |
