Felt bad so manned a control at the Sprint instead - it was fun watching everyone come in and out of the courtyard from different directions and some couldn't decide which way to get out again... Wasn't fun standing in the downpour! Lots of photos to follow - only a few posed!

Run race (Hill Race) 1:02:48 [5] 8.0 km (7:51 / km) +380m 6:21 / km

First Dumyat Hill Race! Fabulous evening and a good turnout from the FVO posse. Wasn't sure how to pace myself having not run to the top from the bottom before. Thankfully JonX had taken us on a dark wet night up the steep bit through the woods so I knew what to expect there - it was a toughy! I was surprised to see the first guy descend so soon as he appeared over a blind summit - I nearly jumped out my skin... then they came at me like a swarm of bees - arms flailing everywhere! Passed people towards the summit and it took a few minutes for my legs to stop feeling like jelly on the decent before getting going properly and fast downhill - this was the best bit... the worst bit was at the bottom of the hill on the uphill part of the track where I had a wee walk: I was thoroughly pooped and demoralised! Didn't help when a guy passed me here especially when I had overtaken him several times on the uphill! Glad to see a welcoming FVO posse on their warm down - thanks guys! Aim for next year - under the hour. Good chat at the Westie after.

39.14 to the top
23.34 to the bottom 234/260 - not last!

Run 37:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks GTS

Missed the FVO posse soup run as was on baby-sitting duties - I lost the coin toss with Brad! Still, went out when they all came back. Ran up to the monument towards Sherrifmuir and back, it was a lovely evening and wasn't alone as some deer joined in beside me in the field - fantastic! Good soup from Auntie Nine (Skyhigh).
