| It's Health Week! Joined in the 1km walk round the school grounds, had to stop at the half way point at the drinks station. Finished with a big cheer from the big boys and girls - where were they on Wednesday? |

| Knock of Crieff Hill Race. It was a spooky misty night, with darkness looming - it was suggested that I should maybe take a head torch - huh! In fact, not such a bad idea as it was pretty black through the woods and called for some luck and fancy footwork to avoid twisting any ankles or slipping in the mud.
Anyway, I thought it would be a good idea to do a race rather than do the WEE O at Mine Woods in the hope that it would improve my faster running skills. As it turned out, I lost sight of anyone in front once we got into the trees and I thought that I had got into a comfortable last position until I heard a guy behind saying: "I'm the last one" to the marshal. He proceeded to repeat this to all the other marshals along the way and this made me even determined to keep him off my tail, I couldn't face the embarrassment of being last again. With this in mind, I dug in and ran as fast as I could on the downhill just to make sure! There were good times from the rest of the FVO posse with Rosco in second place winning a cheque and free entry for next year. |

| Blowy evening run up onto Dumyat with Elle, JonX and Rosco. I wasn't feeling too great to start with and my legs felt really heavy and sluggish up the hills - the worst I'd felt on a run for a while. I tried my best and, believe it or not, I did run all the way up that steep slope but I would have been quicker walking. The guys and Elle were very good at coming back to make sure I was still moving! Further up we stopped at a fence to chat about fence crossing techniques - personally I've wasted crucial minutes crossing fences, not to mention damages to life and limb but I don't think I'll ever perfect the art of hurtling over at great speed?
We made it up as far as the fort and all had a lie down (mostly to minimise the gusts of wind) to have a chat whilst taking in the view. On the way down I felt decidedly dizzy and faint - lack of water, food and low iron levels most probable cause so headed back down to the track where we met Gary running up. Gary joined us for the flying lessons down the Sheriffmuir Road to the Uni - it's soooo steeeeep! I stopped at the shop to get some Lucozade and felt a bit better, although remind me not to buy the fizzy one next time. |

| Scottish Orienteering Championship Relays. Was unexpectedly promoted to one of the FVO womens open teams - thankfully the (not quite as fast) team with Cathy and Rona, otherwise I would really have panicked! Was very flattered to be asked. Thought I'd better do my best but despite getting all the controls in a pretty good orderly fashion, I might as well have been a snail for the day... I ran pretty much the whole way round and hardly saw a soul - where were the people to run with, relays were supposed to be fun, I thought - but perhaps not on third legs... Rona welcomed me at the finish, which was lovely but was astonished when our team were called to the podium for third place behind FVO and EUOC - fantastic! Perfect end to a fabulous weekend.
