Saturday Jul 19

Run 41:23 [3]
shoes: Brooks GTS
Run with Beccy from Dunblane - round the golf course and up through the woods on a lovely uphill path that I've not been on before. Good steady pace.

Wednesday Jul 16

Run 45:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks GTS
Run round Stirling Uni with Peggy on her first run for a while so took it very steadily, which meant plenty of breath available for chatting all the way around...
Note
Blood tests all normal, in fact blood and iron counts in upper end of range, excellent. So, it means that I was basically running on empty for my evening runs (temporary state of hypoglycemia I guess) - half starved of energy from food. Very simple to rectify: eat more before running in the evening like carbs about two hours before! I would be interested to know what others are eating and what works for you?

Monday Jul 14

Note
Had some blood extracted and had a chat with the Doctor - turns out he's a hill runner and able to give plenty of good advice. Now taking 600mg of iron tablets per day... dinner was a lovely steak and lots of green veg.

Sunday Jul 13

Run race 58:59 [5] 10 km (5:54 / km) +350m 5:01 / km
shoes: Brooks GTS
Crieff 10K. Lovely scenic course, mostly on track and hilly so wasn't expecting to get near my vdot predicted time of 53.33mins. I was happy with my time considering I've been feeling a bit off colour lately. Still, I took 7 minutes off my Lanzarote 10K time from about ten years ago.
