Evening adventure run with Elle and Skyhigh in the Ochils. Ben Shee, Scad Hill, Cairnmorris Hill, Tarmangie Hill, Whitewisp Hill and Innerdownie - this was the girlie route... the guys did Sheriffmuir to Glendevon over all the 2000ft summits and all made it back safely. The lack of eating facilities was a bit of a problem after the run but we found the correct quantity of chips at Clackmannanshire's best eating establishment, Little India!

Bike rides to and from training exercises in Inchriach South and Middle.
| Orienteering 52:05 [2] 2.7 mi (19:17 / mi) | |

Exceedingly slow pace adopted for some orienteering on a training exercise, spent lots of time standing still taking in all the contour features on the map and relating these to the ground and vice versa. Tried also to visualise what the ground should look like en route to the control once at the attack point for the controls. Messed up one control after finding what I thought was a ride and led myself a merry dance in the woods...

Window compass and pacing exercise over the most rugged terrain in Inchriach. Didn't quite go far enough to find the first control before turning back to the start via another that I had seen earlier. I had been close but without a map decided not to go any further! Claire and I went together to three other controls and we were not very accurate at all - oh dear! I almost never use exact compass and pacing in this way when I'm orienteering - probably best in the circumstances as I would never find any controls at all. I guess I have a training need in this technique.
