Friday Feb 22

Note
4 to 8 inches of snow. What can I say, I wimped out. which is kinda okay I think. I've got the house to myself all weekend long. Big party at my place??

Thursday Feb 21

road run 46:22 [3] 6.0 mi (7:43 / mi)
running a lot harder than yesterday but didn't end up being that much faster. I must not be pushing myself as much as I think when I "run faster". My eventual goal is to run this section in 42 minutes with a backpack on at some point. I still have some improvements to make.

It's a little bit boring at home with Sam off in Arizona. I'm not used to entertaining myself.

Wednesday Feb 20

road run 46:45 [3] 6.0 mi (7:46 / mi)
Trying to stay motivated and run more. Weather isn't cooperating too much though, very cold out while running. Got up early to drive Sam to the airport.... which could help explain why I was feeling tired. I am looking forward to summer time runs, and daylight :)

Tuesday Feb 19

Note
got back from VT a little bit late last night, and my back feels a bit sore from either the skiing or the sitting on the bus. Either way, I used it as an excuse not to run today.

Tuesday Feb 12

road run 54:27 [3] 7.1 mi (7:40 / mi)
Super nice run with Jenn. She wanted to do a longish tempo run. I didn't really know what that meant, but I was happy to go along anyways. It ended up being about a mile of 'marathon pace' and then 2 miles faster then another mile 'marathon pace' and then slower back home. In all honesty I just tried to match Jenn's pace, and that meant for the faster pace I wasn't able to talk any longer.

running fast is easier with someone else to come with you.

Sunday Feb 10

road run 1:51:07 [3]
Long run in super weird weather. Jeff, Hilly, Sam, and I went out and about in Newton. We had an old street-o map and went and did the course backwards, even pushed to do the last control though it meant adding on a few more minutes.

now I'm being forced away from the computer to help Sam with her arts and crafts. Being a trophy boyfriend can be hard.

Saturday Feb 9

skiing 30:00 [3]
A gorgeous morning to be outside and in the sun. Skiing at Weston Ski track with the Saeger clan. didn't really time my skiing, but I was probably skiing for about 30 minutes of the hour that we were there. I got very tired. I'm not a great skier. It was fun to watch the high school team doing drills. Some of the drills seemed to involve a lot of screaming and falling down :)

Now we're headed off to see the U2 movie in 3D. should be an excellent outing.

Thursday Feb 7

road run 1:03:00 [3] 7.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
Cambridge Street-O w/ controls at Harvard. I get so lost in cambridge. CSU training had Brendan, Lori, Dean, Katia and myself. I was running pretty hard but not making the greatest choices on the streets. Then on the campus map I felt pretty foolish because I had designed a control location to be tricky and feel for my own trick. The straightest route had an impassible fence marked on the map, but I didn't plan ahead and had to double back and go around the otherside of the building. Very foolish indeed :)

Another fun CSU training though.

Monday Feb 4

Note
I didn't run today, like I meant to, because I took the T home to go pick my new laptop up from the DHL holding warehouse. Fun new toy !

Sunday Feb 3

Note
Hmm, shoulda gone running, but helped a friend move into his new apartment and then spent a lot of time playing with the deep-fryer. Made excellent fries and sweet potato fries and beer-battered cod. mmmm. perfect football/anytime food.

Saturday Feb 2

road run 49:57 [3] 6.0 mi (8:18 / mi)
Sam did the leading on this one. She's into pastoral runs, i guess because we kept to the back roads a lot and even hit up a dirt road on this one. A nice day for running, shedding layers the whole trip. I feel good running, and have almost kicked the annoying tightness in my throat when I run.
