Sprint A Course 3 (R/B) - Splits

Sprint B Course 3 (R/B) - Splits

Friday Sep 21

Note
no running, I call it a one day taper for the sprints on the weekend

Thursday Sep 20

road run 20:00 [3] 2.5 mi (7:59 / mi)
not really sure of the time or the distance. just know that it shouldn't take 45 minutes to take the T from Longwood to Davis Sq. I then ran from Davis up to Pine Banks where Alexei had set up CSU training, arrived a bit late.
orienteering 24:00 [3]
I forget how long the course was. back logging can be tough when your room is a unmitigated trash heap, I know the map is probably around here somewhere.... but I have already spent too long on AP as it is, and I haven't even gotten to logging the weekend or today. Cristina's log takes precedence, what can I say :)

anyways, I remembered enough about pine banks to bring long pants and to stay on the trails a much as possible. overshot the first control a little, and then undershot the third. very direct to 4, and very quick on the 5th, got a bit stuck getting out to six, didn't see the pit in the circle at 6, but stayed focused enough that relocating off the stone wall was pretty quick. stayed on the trail too long at 7, and had to loop back too much in the woods and then ran hard on the trail to 8 and the finish.

Wednesday Sep 19

road run 46:57 [3] 6.0 mi (7:49 / mi)
running home from work. At first felt great, then at around cleveland circle started to feel tired and a little sluggish until Newton. The last section picked up nicely though. Passed the wild turkey on beacon street again, he must live around there, since I saw him in the same spot a couple months ago.

just got back from pub trivia, our house came in second place getting almost all the questions right, but not recognizing enough bands for one of the lightning rounds. we also had a hard time telling which of the celebrities were Canadian, Gay, Both or Neither for the other lightning round. anyways, we had a blast.

track 20:00 [5] 1.5 mi (13:19 / mi)
track work with Jenn, apparently Tuesday is her track day. we ran over to the track (~10 mins) and made up a workout on whim. The idea was to do a 600 cut-up (41 -- 43 -- 45 ) or so straight into 2 minutes "cruise" and then back to the track for a 600 cut down (45 -- 43 -- 41) or so. This is a kinda fun piece, that Jenn remembers from Williams Track. Our pacing wasn't great for either 600 we pretty much ran at about 42 seconds for each set. Then we decided to do 3 x 400 getting faster for each 400. couple minutes of rest between each. we ran 83, 73, 67. I was aiming for 80 on the first one, Jenn led the second, and then we tried to go sub 70 on the last one... which felt great. calves a little sore after this one.

Monday Sep 17

road run 35:11 [3]
Ran from work, down the riverway until the so called emerald necklace. I ran down to Jamaica Pond, did a loop and came back to the Joslin. Well I did get turned about once or twice whilst running, since it was my first time in this park. The whole thing was gorgeous, really very nice paths. I also got to speed past a high school or maybe college cross country team. It's nice to feel fast. Also nice to not to have to run with a back pack.

Then went to Lauren's to watch the Movie Hot Fuzz. A very very funny movie, that I highly suggest.

Sunday Sep 16

road run 1:15:44 [3]
Sam and I went for a sunday stroll. Maybe the last sunday run that doesn't require wearing tights. It's getting cold out. Perhaps I'm getting weak. Anyways, running with sam was a nice end to the weekend, even if we had to skip orienteering to hang out with Sean and Arianne.
