Road run 36:00 [3] 4.5 mi (8:00 / mi)

First off, I got a new prescription and some new contacts for my eyes. My left eye is getting steadily worse, but the right eye is holding in there. This is just in time, because I had realized that I didn't have any contacts I could wear for orienteering this season ( I went through a "year's supply" over the course of the last 3 years). Now if my new orienteering shoes come in the mail tomorrow I'll be mostly ready to race on Friday.

I was running home after work ( exhausted in the morning, so not really feeling a double commute) and "ran" into some friends coming down beacon street. It's been a long time since I had chatted with Rob and Carol so I jogged with them as they finished their run and chatted with them about life and running, then I turned around and headed for home and a date with baking some snickerdoodles. Carol is quite an accomplished ultra runner and Rob is a very enthusiastic and supportive husband. I love when I can get a perfect mix of warm weather, running and friends :)

Road run 32:00 [3] 4.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Running to work today. Hat and gloves and tights and only one earpiece worth of headphones to work with. I was a bit behind schedule so I decided not to add on to the reservoir... plus I was pretty sleepy. Staying up too late on the computer, which is fun, but leads to being sleepy.

Also I knew I was going to miss CSU training in the evening because of going to dinner with a visiting friend :)

Road run 45:00 [3] 5.8 mi (7:46 / mi)

running to work this morning. The chill seeping through our closed bedroom window this morning gave me an appropriate heads up that it was too cold to wear shorts on the run this morning, so I was back in tights. but wow was it still way too cold when the wind was blowing. Feeling motivated and ambitious I decided to tag on a lap of the reservoir again. A good feeling to do "extra" work at the beginning of the day.

Road run 32:00 [3] 4.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

running home. Got very sleepy and weary at work by the end of the day and didn't really feel like running. I decided that I would feel better if I just got the run in anyway. too chilly to add the reservoir lap on the way home. In the morning the sleeves of my long sleeve t-shirt were long enough for me to bunch them up in my hands and have some impromptu gloves. My shirt for the return home had shorter sleeves. Also, sometime during the run my headphones started acting up, which means that I have somehow damaged one of the wires so that only the left ear comes in well. My headphones don't really like the abusive way I treat my electronics. This is perhaps my 4th pair of headphones since I've been in Boston... about one new pair per year.
