Note

I'm going to be a healthy volunteer in a research study and today I had a screening doctor's appointment. Most of the screening was very basic, health history, weight height etc. But they did do some cool stuff and they are running about $1,000 worth of blood labs which I'm fascinated to see the results from.

I learned today that my resting heart rate is 39. I'm also got a scan from my EKG as well, though I don't know very much about how to interpret the peaks. The doctor in charge of the study is very friendly and I will be spending a lot of time chatting with him over the course of the study as there will be 3 overnight stays at the hospital before it's done.

Road run 32:00 [2] 4.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

running home. Super warm, feels good to run, but can definitely tell that I wasn't 100% the past couple days.

Note

Woke up at 4am feeling like the worst had past. Good enough to go to work, but not good enough to do any exercise.

orienteering 1:30:00 [3]

woof, started out okay. control picking set by Boris on the Blue Hills west. Sam and I headed over in the morning and things went well for awhile. Started to feel worse and worse and by the end I was suffering from a lot of GI and gastric distress.

spent the rest of the day and night very nauseous

Sad to miss Alex's ski-o at Weston.

orienteering 57:00 [5] 6.5 km (8:46 / km)

contour only course. CSU semi-perm course. Ran with Sam and Brendan. Much better conditions than on Wednesday. Better focused too. Contours only felt easier than full map actually.

Note

Not sure why it seems so hard to keep up to date with AP posting, but I've not been doing a great job this week. Apologies.

Road run 32:00 [2] 4.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Ah, the road conditions are absolutely miserable. hard packed uneven snow on the sidewalks and surprise sheets of ice abound. The walk that never gets shoveled is by far the worst example of this, but all in all I'm looking forward to some running that doesn't involve the potential to slip and fall.

Road run 32:00 [2] 4.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

running to work, but things feeling pretty tired from yesterday's activities. probably felt a little sleepier because I slept in and skipped my normal core routine. By the end of the run I was ready to face the day.
5 PM

Road run 32:00 [2] 4.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Left work right on time. Motivated by being extremely hungry. I promised myself a huge bowl of cereal when I got home, which kept morale high. Then I sampled a lot as I was cooking a potato and cauliflower curry for dinner.
