Bike Tours in Eastern PA #9. Guidebook said it was hilly with some climbs. What an understatement! About the only flats were the bridges across the Susquehanna. Started and ended at Susquehannock SP which added 10 miles. Crossed the Norman Wood Bridge and then traversed the York County uplands. When I stopped in Columbia for lunch, the bank thermometer said 93 deg! At least it wasn't humid. Maxed out at 45 mph in Lancaster County on the descent to Conestoga Creek. Ran out of gas on a killer hill at mile 60 but recovered to finish ok. Some great scenery, but the hills were tough.

Cool down hike at Susquehannock State Park. Rhododendron/Overlook/Landis Trails. The park is small (224 acres) with an extensive trail network but the woods are thick and rhododendron-choked. A low O-ability quotient. But worth checking out for the great views from promontories high above the Susquehanna.
