Up and over Tourmalet!

First time on a proper bike for a while (and a very nice one at that) so kept it pretty steady. As we climbed we were heading past an almost endless queue of campervans descending the mountain for the first 30 minutes then onto the climb proper, never felt any of them were particularly bad, and was passing a fair few folk along the way (think all the decent cyclists had been and gone far earlier in the day).

Descent off the other side for lunch, then a shorter ascent back up and over Tourmalet returning to Luz - didn't love the switchback descents much but the longer straighter ones were more enjoyable.

Cool to see all the painted road messages, and there was a huge collection of cyclists at the summit and the next town over at lunch providing a good atmosphere.

Late hike on tired legs up the GR10-F variant along the valley to setup camp for a couple of nights. Decent sized climb too begin with then more pleasant trails towards the end. Much time speculating on what the F stood for, fucking ferns most likely - it was quite overgrown in places. Misty throughout, so very little in the way of views.
