It was apparently taps aff weather in St Leonards park today, didn't see that on lunchtime runs in London (men aside). Calf still niggly.

Need to get back on top of this, need to make time. Got the roller out too.

Calf still niggly and didn't have kit so skipped street o, shame as I work on the map but glad I missed the frustration factor involved by the sounds of things.

Ankle still a bit sore and calf tight, so skipped Pilates as I didn't think either would benefit.

Running (Mixed) warm up/down 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km) +15m 4:54 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov-8 Terrafly 303

Not a great warn up, left calf tight from the off, had a few stretching stops, then halfway stuck my right foot down a hole and twisted my ankle.

Orienteering race 13:53 [5] *** 2.9 km (4:47 / km)
spiked:21/23c (injured) shoes: Inov-8 Terrafly 303

Pretty clean run, but wasn't quick due to my calf, and slow on the first 6 due to wariness over my ankle.

Very straightforward course, in theory could have run more aggressively to 3 with bridge as catching feature/AP, but I wasn't running fast enough for that to matter. Being picky I was slightly east of 4 and in too early for 5. Overshot 6 slightly and 7 properly (5s) then just didn't really have the speed on the open stuff through the park (a lot of which was a bit pointless with only one course out there), just a bit of hesitation above 19 (5s) but got 21 (best control of the course) fine.

Disappointed by how warm the river was afterwards, could have done with colder water for calf and ankle.

ahr:160 max:184 slept:6.0 shoes: Inov-8 Road-X 255 (blue)

Hot run out from Wanda to Kurnell & back with Andy, Steve & Ondrej, absolutely cracking views again along the cliff tops, and the beaches were the busiest I've seen them down here, the beach was like a 4wd car park the entire length.

Didn't carry water, which I was seriously regretting when the outward stretch through the scrub went on endlessly and stretched things out over an hour to Kurnell (thought I could cope an hour without water, it seems not), was pretty dehydrated and getting a headache. Smashed a litre of liquid in the form of coke, powerade & icy pole at the visitor centre, then took bottle with me for the return leg, and felt much better for all that aside from a stitch which was preferred to dehydration.

Did one dune rep on the return leg but my left hamstring started to twinge in the last few km and calves were complaining when I tried to do Wanda so didn't join the guys for reps.

Running (Mixed) warm up/down 14:00 [3] 2.0 km (7:00 / km) +30m 6:31 / km
ahr:149 max:178 shoes: Inov-8 Road-X 255 (blue)

Easy jog back to the beach for a much needed cool down in the sea.
