Not a great start to the day, woke up feeling horrific, sore throat & headache, but having got up that early was determined to ride. Then got a puncture just before central, so had to leg it through the tunnel with my bike, before going to the wrong platform - realised and made it to the right one with seconds to spare. Then I got to fix puncture rather than catching up with sleep on the train.

Anyway, eventually got to Mittagong and had a pleasant ride to Fitzroy falls for some tea, perked up a little and thoroughly enjoyed the descent into kangaroo valley although annoyingly was stuck behind traffic thanks to roadworks, which took the edge off the speed a little, though was topping 75 for a bit. Wouldn't have been doing that without disk brakes.

Nice undulating through the valley then long steady climb out again, off the front on my own and pushing reasonably hard, certainly that's the highest my HR has gone cycling for a long while. Didn't like the descent off berry mountain much, road surface wasn't great and hands were getting tired on the brakes.

Regrouped in Berry and we had a nice group effort from there to Gerringong, although I did most of the work and into a headwind too. Finished at Werri beach where I smashed some fish and chips for my efforts. Good to catch up with Olaf again, who has some crazy rides planned that I might need to join, and meet some other chilled cycling folk too.

Had to get out to clear my head, shift a bad mood, and try and find some motivation for running again. Marginally successful all round thanks to some lunchtime trails in flatrock gully. Super sticky out, trying to cool down even after a cold shower took longer than the run.

Foot fine, calf fine.
