Brewery marathon: 10 breweries, many beers, fun trails, city streets, muchos entertainment.

Hard getting going as the beer stops progressed, more on the legs warning up front than anything else, not aided by it being a pretty cool day. The final stretch to the rocks, and the final beer, were a struggle.

The slog to the pipeline track was easier in daylight & without the bush bash, then it was easy running to Heathcote via a swim at Mirang pool and some sweet sunlit singletrack to finish, just got on the train in time after a quick tea run. Back at my desk by 9am.

From Waterfall into Heathcote NP for a spot of midweek camping & swimming. Pretty slow trails, almost non existent in places, with a decent bit of bush bashing in the fading light, but got to camp just in time and snuck in a swim as it grew dark.

Filled my Omm sack at 20l or so, and it was reasonably comfortable to run with, though could definitely do some tinkering with kit. Didn't use my tent in the end as it was dry, but got pretty cold around dawn, think a new sleeping bag is needed, and maybe a better/lighter/smaller mat. And probably a 30l sack for longer excursions.

Tired and sore legs, but a reasonably fun run out aside from having lots of road running to finish. South loop first, not the optimum route in a few places, but on a couple of minutes planning it was ok - lost some time on bush bashing to 16 & 10, trying to get along the crag at 28, then overran 27, maybe a couple of minutes lost all up.
