Good, but tough day out in the mountains, mainly made tough through my own stupidity with a bit of a nutrition fail. Only half a banana for breakfast, crap dinner the night before, and didn't have enough food with me to counteract that combo given how brutal this route is.

Got dropped off along mt hay road and headed down into the Grose Valley via pinnacles & Lockley's Pylon, lovely single track and stunning views. Pretty slow dropping down into the valley, and as soon as I stated the climb up Perry's my HR sky rocketed and never really dropped. Ok pace up here but was wrecked by the top and it was pretty hot by this stage. Back down into the valley and energy slumped on the section to junction rock, had forgotten how slow this section is. Ate everything I had and perked up a little on the climb up to Govetts, but it was basically grinding it out as best I could as I'd also run out of water. Getting to the foot of the falls and looking up at the remaining wall of climb is a killer, but does pass surprisingly quickly.

Watch suggested 2700+ calories burned, I had 2 cereal bars, a clifbar and a couple of gels. 1.5l water & 1l electrolyte.
