Lovely Rivelin loop. Cool but not cold, overcast but dry, nice and still. Felt tired today but enjoyed it a lot. Bell Hagg is beautiful with all its crags, and Rivelin is like a motivational poster with all its moss-covered rocks. Runs like today make me sad that I will ever leave Sheffield!

Uni of Sheffield Cycling Club Christmas Ride!

This ride was a bit longer than I'd usually go for on a Wednesday due to the occasion. Kyhil and I went with the "B minus" pace group, but there were a couple of "C" pace riders with us trying to push themselves for a longer and slightly faster ride - so not the fastest ride for us. I didn't mind, it was good fun, and there were lots of people in both A and B rides (and the mountain bikers) dressed in santa suits / elf suits and with tinsel-wrapped bikes.

As always on the UoSCC Christmas Ride, we went out the A57 to Ladybower, down to Hathersage, along the Hope Valley to Castleton and up the infamous Winnats Pass, before turning around back to Hathersage and then back into Sheffield via Surprise View.

Felt quite good actually, I think even if the ride was a bit faster I would have coped OK.
