Well that was crap. Did a 1:43 for the first half of my 1km so I thought I'd try to take it at the same pace. Didn't work!

OUCH. A VO2 Max set. 3 x 100 max effort with 10 rest between, times three. Discovered that my heart rate doesn't get as high when swimming as running.

Tuesday May 6

Control picking, tried hard and had the added pressure of having dad start 2 minutes after me, and he'd put out the controls so he knew where they were. Well at least I thought he was behind me...actually I'd gone the wrong way around the course! We finished at the same time.

Went around the course the right way this time, picking up the tapes, meeting dad halfway. Then we ran straight back to the start.
