Saturday May 17

Event: Sun Coast Classic & WOC Selection Trials

Orienteering race (Sprint) 18:27 [5] 2.3 km (8:01 / km)
shoes: Silva O-Shoes
Big mistake on number 2, drifted to the left and found number 3, not concentrating properly. Got it together for the rest of the course. Felt okay.
Orienteering race (Middle Distance) 40:01 [5] 4.3 km (9:18 / km)
shoes: Silva O-Shoes
This was pretty tough! Number 1 was pretty devoid of attack features, missed it but thankfully relocated off the next spur. Wasted about 2 minutes. Had a wobble on number 2 but nothing major...then missed 6 and started looking for it really low before turning and seeing it at the top of the hill where I thought I had already looked! Otherwise kept fairly good contact with the map. Went straight to 5, there was an option to avoid the marshes but I didn't...I was very tired after that! Didn't feel too bad but very tired at the end.
Jogging warm up/down 35:00 [3] 6 km (5:50 / km)
shoes: Silva O-Shoes
Just various warm-ups and downs before and after runs.

Note

Bloody cold, why did I have to get it NOW? My nose is blocked, my head is throbbing and my throat feels like something crawled in there and died. Hehe. Hopefully I can recover a bit for the weekend.
C • Get well soon :) 4

Tuesday May 13

Swimming intervals 1:30:00 [3] 4.1 km (21:57 / km)
Freestyle + fly.
C • Training 3
Jogging 52:00 [3] 10.5 km (4:57 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Runners
Stopped my watch by accident so my time and dist is an estimate, but I know I did 6km in 28:30 so it can't be too far off. Pretty flat run around the lake and through vicky park, trying not to get the heart rate up too high.

Monday May 12

Cycling intervals 1:00:00 [3] 26 km (2:18 / km)
Windtrainer, not too tough. Tapering week.
Swimming intervals 1:30:00 [2] 3.4 km (26:28 / km)
Easy back + flippers set.

Sunday May 11

Orienteering long 1:22:00 [3]*** 9.5 km (8:38 / km)
shoes: Silva O-Shoes
Dad and I did a course at Little Hard Hills. Thick, steep and pretty low visibility. Struggled a bit...also it started getting a bit dark at the end so that made it even less visible! Good training though.
