Getting over my illness now, cough still lingering, but feeling exhausted and also extremely unmotivated / not in the mood.

Shop run. It was a struggle. Both exausted from the weekend and not yet over the illness. Got home at 1 and was up for work at 9. Also none of the really slow people turned up so it was actually a reasonably paced run.

Selection Long Distance.

I have almost nothing positive to say about this course. It was steep, horribly green, and full of very wet marshes. It was so far beyond my physical capabilities given my current health.

The leg to #1 set off the tone for the course nicely. The feature was a small watercourse in medium green, and the only way to get there was to bash through 100m of medium green, cross a 200m marsh, climb 10 contours, and bash through another 200m of medium green. I missed it and spent 2 minutes bashing around in green.

I lost some more time on #4 when I had a brain-fade and counted one watercourse too early, then once I'd corrected my mistake I dropped a few contours too low.

The rest of the course went OK navigationally minus some rough 30s - 1min errors on #6 and #8 and a big hesitation on the way to #16 when I hit the huge unmapped felled area (apparently this was pointed out in the start process but I must have missed it).

Only took one gel because I expected to be out 90 minutes. Nearly cried when I turned the map over at #12 and found the second half of the course was longer than the first. Took a pretty straight route choice on the long leg to #6 (yay climbing up a ski slope) and went quite wide on the other long leg to #19.
