Cycling 2:49:27 [3] 63.65 km (22.5 kph) +1152m

This was a bit miserable, to be honest. I will admit to throwing in the towel a little bit, I was planning to go longer. It seemed like 80% of the ride was uphill and into a howling headwind, also got rained on quite a bit. Was out on my own as Kyhil is out of action. Route was Home - Fox House - down Grindleford - Curbar - Owler Bar - Fox House - Hathersage - Bamford - Ladybower - home via the A57.

Orienteering race 30:01 [4] 4.94 km (6:05 / km) +96m 5:32 / km
ahr:163 max:173

SYO Event at Redmires. Tried to give it a good go and push reasonably hard. This area is much easier in daylight! Made a few careless compassing errors, didn't lose long (but won't be able to be so careless in the green in Latvia).

Jogging warm up/down 13:31 [3] 2.23 km (6:04 / km) +23m 5:46 / km

Cycling 1:42:12 [3] 40.52 km (23.8 kph) +729m
ahr:133 max:166

2 laps of Damflask via Crosspool and Stannington. Felt great, really enjoyed it. Don't know if I'm getting stronger or if I'm just feeling the benefits of no bike session on Monday.

5 x 1km with 800 float recovery. This actually went OK considering how sore and tired I felt yesterday and this morning. HR ticked up a little on them but tried to keep it around 175.

Jogging warm up/down 36:04 [3] 7.06 km (5:07 / km) +74m 4:51 / km

Recoveries and warm down.

Jogging 49:55 [1] 7.47 km (6:41 / km) +85m 6:19 / km

Well, it was slightly faster than last week...I guess good for recovery?
7 PM

Note

Really sore back all day, as well as tired shoulders, tight hammys and the faintest shadow of a sore throat. Decided to forgo the ride and do some stretching and rolling instead. Sore throat mostly gone by the end of the day so I guess I just snored last night...

Jogging long 2:31:20 [3] 26.9 km (5:38 / km) +611m 5:03 / km
ahr:148 max:169

Lovely long one, with Kyhil and Alice for the first hour and a half. Great to have company.

Started at Ladybower Inn, across to the viaduct and then up just below Crook Hill. Along past Hagg Side and then a long gradual downhill to Derwent. Along the road to Fairholmes and across past the dam wall, then along the other side of the reservoir and up to the path just below Derwent Edge. Headed back down to the Inn from Whinstone Tor and dropped off Alice before doing another lap of Ladybower.

Was definitely feeling it in the ankles, lower back and shoulders by the end. I was also glad I took 3 gels. The Roclite 305s were pretty great for the mix of hard gravel paths and rough rocky trails, but I'll admit they weren't the most comfortable on the bits of actual road, especially towards the end.
