World Cup Final Middle. Don't know the actual distance or climb, wasn't allowed to wear my Garmin again, and didn't have GPS today.
What a disaster of a run. I'm really disappointed with this, especially after yesterday. I had gained so much confidence, and I really lost it all again.
I started the course with the same philosophy as yesterday, slow and careful so I could speed up into it. Found 1 fine, avoided dying on some of the more horrendous rock holes. #2 is where it all came undone. Didn't have a real plan, didn't see the building on the edge of the circle at 1 which would have pointed me in the right direction, and drifted too far to the left. Hit the yellow and then ran back and forth across the slope twice before deciding to check where I had come out in the clearing. Lost 4 minutes.
Lost another minute at 3, climbed past the control and then had to drop back into it. Again, didn't have a real plan, and should have climbed up the creek to the right height.
The rest of the course was clean enough, but as I said I'd lost all confidence and bled time in slow decisions and hesitations. Didn't really make any more "mistakes", which is the only positive I could take away from it. Took the middle / left route to 5, which was slower, and went straight to 13, which was also slower.
