Busy tomorrow so opted for a long run today instead (plus the weather today was much nicer than the forecast for tomorrow). Wanted a nice location so went out to the Dandenongs, parked at Belgrave station and did the Sherbrook Runners route from MapMyRun plus a bit.

Wish I hadn't added the bit, it was long enough without it and also that bit just plunged straight down and then was a long drag back up! Also sketchily ran through paddocks with horses in them at the end - it was marked as a public path but this isn't the UK so I'm not so sure...

Felt pretty rough today and was slow as a result. I think the increased circuits yesterday evening definitely played a part, quite a bit of DOMS - and also the heat (meant to go earlier...). Found some of the steeper hills a challenge and even had to walk bits. But all good training I guess.

It was so beautiful out there, love the huge trees and the ferns.

Same sets as last week but 4 x everything. Middle set is tough - Squat jumps, leg raises and plank! But actually able to do them all for the full minute for all 4 sets which is good!

Another Bendigo run. Found some single-track today which was fun, a bit rougher. Thoroughly enjoyed again, feeling perhaps a little more tired and it was quite warm.

Indoor session, couldn't find a Sufferfest video so just made it up. Some sprints followed by a sort of pyramid. Not super hard. Meant to do an hour but faffed too much then had to go.

After my ride I caught the train to Bendigo to visit my sister and her family. Ran from her place to find the forest and found the Great Dividing Trail! Very enjoyable run, loved it. Felt very stiff at the start but loosened up and got some of the good feeling from yesterday.

Jog up the river. Actually felt amazing, best I've felt running since getting back to Aus! HR obviously way too high but actually was enjoying the run for once. Maybe finally getting over whatever has been wrong with me! Or my body is just rejoicing that I'm not carrying a massive pack?

Victorian Sprint Distance Championships at SMB in Ballarat.

Fantastic course I have to say, set by Dad. Really tricky, great route choice options and lots of stairs and turns and you just generally had to be on your game. Unfortunately, I wasn't! Made two pretty large errors on 15 (went a really long way around) and 17 (thought I could get through a gap I couldn't), and several times I over-ran or took a few steps down the wrong turn.

Feeling better than yesterday but still fairly ordinary.
