Finally doing some training. Got started a bit late, so I suggested riding on the paths instead of the roads because the traffic would definitely be rubbish. I loved it, we went out along the Boulie and then Main Yarra trail, turned off onto Konung trail (had planned to keep going on the Yarra trail but it became gravel) and ended up on Eastlink trail for a bit before turning around. Gorgeous day and the path was quiet, sheltered and varied. Kyhil hated it though so I guess it won't be a regular! Very tired by the end. Slow average because of the path.

This week is a disaster for me from a training perspective. Have felt mega exhausted and really sore from the weekend (tip: don't run a race then sit down for the next 9 hours). Also had an assignment due so haven't caught up on sleep. Tried to do an hour today but cut it short, just felt too rotten. Sore everything but particularly feet and calf muscles - the right one has been cramping slightly every few steps everywhere I've walked the last few days and it was doing the same running. Also headache, scratchy throat.

NOL Race 2 (Long) at Hill End.

Pretty happy with this race. Felt OK physically, and able to push. Pretty clean through the first couple, had a small miss and then hesitation to the right at #9 (30s). Happy with my route on the long leg to 10 but a small miss (too low) in the circle (20s). Also happy with my route to 11, thought it was quite far around but avoided the steep bits. On 12 I was getting tired I think and started reading one spur / erosion gully too early and had a mid - leg freak out (30s). Was a bit rattled after this so I slowed but got the next few cleanly.

Biggest misses were near the end when I was getting tired. Thought my route to 17 was clever but it turned out I went too far around and ended up on the fenced area to the south. Would have said I lost maybe 1min but Winsplits doesn't agree! Had trouble reading 18 and checked a couple of other gullies (45s). Winsplits says I made a mistake at 19 but I'd thought I'd got it cleanly!

Overall quite happy, no massive mistakes but need to work on keeping technique when tired. Happy to at least be competitive.
