Cycling 3:42:27 [3] 100.33 km (2:13 / km) +963m 2:07 / km

Trying to help out Mellor with a spot of tourism- he wanted to ride the full Great Ocean Road but neither Kyhil nor I wanted to do that less than a week before the Shotover so we compromised and started with Mellor in Torquay, rode to 50km (just past Lorne) and then left him and rode back.

Warm and dry but weirdly hazy / cloudy (didn't seem like smoke) and SO windy - cross/tail wind out and cross/head wind back which was pretty tiring but not as bad as we'd feared. Felt OK after.

Jogging 38:58 [3] 7.65 km (5:06 / km) +29m 5:00 / km

Easy. Stiff, tired and unenthused. Less stiff by the end at least.

Jogging warm up/down 16:30 [3] 3.1 km (5:19 / km) +48m 4:56 / km

Running intervals 10:36 [5] 2.55 km (4:09 / km) +90m 3:32 / km
ahr:168 max:177

5 x Royal Park Hills. Royal Park hill is longer and quite a bit less steep than The Tan (similar climb but 120-130m longer).

Feeling stiff and tired today, I had planned for 6 but while the first 3 were consistent, the 4th was already way slower so called it at 5. Used to be able to do these 10s or more faster!

To be fair it is my first double session week in a long while - even if Tuesday was a baby session.

Jogging warm up/down 35:07 [3] 6.56 km (5:21 / km) +47m 5:10 / km

Saw a girl who from a distance had the same build and flicky ponytail as Charlotte and I got excited! But when she got close I realised her technique was far too garbage to be right.

Cycling 38:31 [3] 14.8 km (2:36 / km) +143m 2:29 / km

Home via spectating Kyhil in his Crit race.

Jogging 1:14:27 [3] 14.38 km (5:11 / km) +140m 4:56 / km
ahr:146 max:159

Late but sweet as run. Got a full 30min on the trails. These trails are better than Porter and maaaaybe even Rivelin (sacrilege)! But I suppose still not better than the full Rivelin loop to the dams via the top path and back.

Jogging warm up/down 19:05 [3] 3.68 km (5:11 / km) +18m 5:04 / km

Running intervals 8:00 [5] 2.37 km (3:23 / km)
ahr:171 max:179

Baby session - 8 x 1 min on 1 min off. Felt hard but good, think 8 was a good place to stop as I was starting to really slow down. Haven't done anything like this since before Christmas so have to start somewhere.

Jogging warm up/down 30:59 [3] 5.57 km (5:34 / km) +50m 5:19 / km

Recoveries and warm down.

Cycling 58:41 [3] 24.15 km (2:26 / km) +260m 2:18 / km

Recovery ride. Windy. Again, not sore thankfully, but bone-tired after yesterday and then a terrible sleep last night.

Jogging long 2:45:00 [3] 26.7 km (6:11 / km) +516m 5:38 / km

From mum and dad's, went south on the bush tracks to Enfield township and then over the road into the old Little Hard Hills area and down the single track to Surface Point. Did a lap of the old Misery Creek circuit and then back up the way I came.

Not nealy as much climb as last week but a fair bit more technical. The circuit has a lot of very short and very steep climbs out of gully crossings. Only real sustained climbs are in the middle of the circuit and then back up the hill to Enfield. I had actually meant to only do 2/3 of the loop and then go back up the hill via Bald Hill but I missed the turn off somehow.

Felt very ploddy today, was just in survival mode and didn't have any zip at all. Ran the whole way, but just tapping away at it in a very low gear. Still reasonably strong at the end but back is feeling pretty stiff and sore now.
