Back to lockdown and 2 hours exercise only permitted (in 5k radius), so did an hour on the trainer before going on the road. Had the trainer in the backyard which was lovely! Sufferfest - The Wolfpack.

Short break to put stuff away from the trainer session and then out on the road. Already had this loop ready from the first lockdown. Not a bad loop but very suburban so lots of stopping at lights. Some real leg burner hills in there. Felt OK but Kyhil still dropped me like a stone on most climbs.

Started so so sore (glutes and groin mainly) so this began as a bit of a hobble and even after I'd started to loosen up I was determined to go an aggressive recovery pace. Put my foot in a hole half way and slightly tweaked my ankle, idiot. Was very hot so my HR graph was exponential.

On the MTB, along the single tracks near home and out to Candlebark, with Kyhil on his CX bike. Fun but slightly farcical, I got a flat, blew it up to find the leak, and it didn't? Put the tube back in but it went flat / soft twice more so had to change the tube. Then, about 5k from home, Kyhil went over a log and bent his chain ring.

Much too short warm up. Cycled from station instead of running, mistake. Plus drills.

2 x 1 mile (~90s), long rest, 1 x 1 mile.

Very disappointed today after such a good session last week. Went out too hard on the first one and the second one was 20s slower, so sat out the third one and ran the fourth one to support Jimmy. Super sore today after starting strength again yesterday, a bit tired from the weekend...dunno, was just very slow even though HR was high. Saw Pat during my warm down, he was looking strong :)

Sufferfest Strength - Intermediate 4A. Thought it was time to get back on the strength for injury prevention. Has been about 5 weeks since I last did it so taking a step back to level 4. Core stuff was tough.

Squeezed in between Women's and Men's road races, with Ted. Couldn't find the full area map and was in a hurry so just went, took some wrong turns and encountered some dead ends. Poor Ted ended up being out with me for the full 81min. Felt stiff and tired.
