Highland Fling 2021 (Audax Event).

Brilliant day! Route was Yea - Ghin Ghin - Highlands - Creightons Creek - Ruffy - Yarck - Alexandra - Yea. The event had 3 distances and only about 60 people in total, about 22 doing the 200km (of which 6 were me and my friends). We made a group with 4 girls who were friends and had a fantastic day.

Beautiful area, great scenery. Rolling hills but only 2 significant climbs. Weather was cool and overcast but dry and no wind. Finished feeling less wrecked than expected. We had 2 ~45min stops, at 77km (coffee and loo) and 150km (lunch and loo).

Sufferfest - The Rookie. Wanted to do something a bit hard in the absence of running intervals! This was hard but felt good. 3 x 10min intervals, each with lots of surges / sprints / sitting at FTP.

Out to the Boulie, long break while spectating Kyhil racing a crit, then back. Tried to push the hills a little. Considered racing myself (only $5 and they're doing free 4-week licences) but it started late and didn't have lights to get me home.

Bendigo ToDay - Hagaby. Foot had a bit more mobility this morning so got Dad to tape it and went out with the intention of going a bit easy on it. Wasn't too bad for the first loop but got gradually sorer and really struggled with climbing out of erosion gullies, uneven ground and also generally running uphill (downhill wasn't too bad). Maybe wasn't the best idea to finish but I'm pigheaded. Was walking by the end. It was a fun course, was a shame I couldn't run with everyone, I love Hagabys. Made 1 larger mistake (maybe 2min) and had a few overshoots but generally OK nav.
