Bit cheeky logging all of this but what the hell. This weekend Kyhil and I were invited to hike with our friends Kate and Matt and Kate's dad John. It was the first overnight / pack carrying hike for both Kyhil and I. Started at Mt Howitt carpark (on the Howitt plain, near Mt Buller and in the Alpine National Park) and hiked to the top of Mt Howitt and set up camp at the foot of Mt Magdala. Gorgeous views and good introduction to hiking because the weather was amazing.

Foot was feeling ok the last couple of days so went for a shorrt foot test. It was quite good, not really any pain but definitely still feels tight and grumbly. Got very slightly worse by the end, will make sure to build this up slowly. Did a variety of surfaces and gradients and seemed ok everywhere. 7/10

My first crit (since high school, anyway)! The last women's race for the season, they were doing free licences so I thought I'd give it a go and just did C grade. It was fun! I misjudged the effort / didn't want to crash so probably didn't go as hard as I should have. Also was terrible strategically, spent most of the race sitting at the front and then got wel outsprinted at the end. All learnings for next time!

MFR Sprint. Foot is really sore again, it was aggravated by standing in the pedals to climb on the ride yesterday. Was also sore while riding to / from Orienteering, getting going at traffic lights. Made it around the course but was limpy so slow. Frustrated.
