NOL Sprint at Gisbourne Secondary College. Went really well, was smooth, planning ahead and running hard. No mistakes or really any hesitations. However, got third (7s behind Liv); in hindsight, had some sub-optimal route choices and also some sub-optimal execution of route choices. But it's a good start!

NOL Middle. Absolute disaster. Probably up around 20min of mistakes. Just haven't done any orienteering. Biggest time losses were on 2, 3, 8 and 11. I think I maybe gave up a little bit, which makes me feel a little ashamed (I don't think that's like me) but I was so lacking confidence (both in running in terrain and in navigation).

Jogging 20:00 [3] 3.84 km (5:13 / km) +29m 5:01 / km

Just a very short one to see if I could, in fact, run. Seems I can.

Note

Feeling very sore and sorry today, particularly my neck which feels like maybe it's a bit of whiplash. Knee egg has gone down and I think won't be a huge problem.

Jogging 45:23 [3] 8.51 km (5:20 / km) +46m 5:12 / km

Easy. Quads sore from track. Foot OK

Cycling 1:33:11 [3] 27.75 km (17.9 kph) +219m
ahr:138 max:163

Mountain bike along the river and then around Candlebark.

I fell off twice. The first time I washed out on a sandy corner and landed hard on my shoulder. My shoulder, collarbone and neck are now pretty sore, but I don't think anything is broken.

The second fall was just a bit embarrassing, but thankfully I didn't injure myself or break my bike or phone. I stuffed up a rocky climb and didn't un-cleat fast enough, teetered sideways then rolled all the way down a steep bank and almost into the Yarra. I stood down there for 5 minutes just trying to work out how the hell I was going to get out - but then a lovely guy stopped and helped me carry my bike back up the bank.

I'm not mountain biking alone again.

Note

Update: May not be totally unscathed from roll down hill. Big goose egg on my right knee which is making walking a bit painful. Just before NOLs, I am an idiot.

Running intervals 14:43 [5] 3.5 km (4:12 / km)

6 x 400 / 200. The boys are all racing a 5km on Thurs which suited me as they were doing a short / tune up session. Amazing how you can feel so crap after so little time off running! Foot still grumbly, not quite painful but not completely fixed.

Jogging warm up/down 15:39 [3] 3.0 km (5:13 / km) +6m 5:10 / km

Cycling 3:07:36 [3] 74.03 km (23.7 kph) +1421m
max:176

Ride from Traralgon South up Redhill and through the plantations to Mt Tassie, then down the Tarra Valley through Tarra Bulga NP before turning around and heading back mostly the same way. Put in an effort on Redhill (7.4km, 6%) and got the QOM :). Tarra Bulga was beautiful.

Got up, packed up camp, and walked back to Mt Howitt carpark the way we came (John was meant to be working Monday so didn't have time for a more ambitious loop walk).

Walking 48:54 [1] 3.52 km (13:54 / km) +91m 12:18 / km

Packless again, this time a side trip down to Bryce's Gorge to see Pieman Falls.

Note

Foot was all good this weekend; was a bit grumbly toward the end of yesterday but no pain or grief at all today. Yay!
