Sprint training set by dad at SMB and on his new Ballarat City map (still in progress). This one a longer easier one to warm up.

Orienteering 32:23 [4] 5.31 km (6:06 / km) +84m 5:39 / km

Some faster sprint training (5 courses). Did some well and others hesitated a lot and on one misread the map and went the wrong way. Good to practice but I'm more rusty than I'd like.

To work. Avoiding peak hour trains before leaving for the US next week. This felt quite hard considering how slow it was! Think I got every red light also.

7 x 400 / 90s. A bit faster than last time and felt hard! Good fun though.

Still wrecked so opted against a session. Though felt way better out running than I had at my desk so maybe wasn't necessary to take it easy? Middle of my back has been sore since Two Bays in Jan and doesn't seem to be getting better - running seems to make it worse but it doesn't actually bother me when I'm running...

Have been needing to get out and check control sites for the Schools Relay for a while and getting more urgent now I'm leaving in 2 weeks, so took a trip to Castlemaine. Didn't think control site checking would be a good session on its own so did this run on the Goldfields Track beforehand.

Was wayyy too slow getting going this morning, starting a long run at 2pm is rough but seemed ok once I got going. Muscles feeling a bit tired but mostly good, unfortunately though felt vaguely nauseous for the whole run so didn't take on any nutrition which is not ideal. Still, lovely area, v rough and technical tracks but not too much climbing.

Ughh the late start meant that it was VERY late by the time I headed off to start checking control sites, and rapidly running out of light. Got around more of the area than I thought I would though, which is good - but didn't expect to feel quite so buggered, couldn't really run much. 1hr15, 6k.
