Thursday Nov 30

rowing machine 12:00 [3]
again, pulling at a moderate pace ( my moderate being slower than hill could possibly go).
road run 25:00 [2]
around town with dad

Tuesday Nov 28

rowing machine 10:00 [3]
rowing for a bit, trying to keep up a decent pace
road run 34:00 [2]
run with Dad around dedham in the drizzle

Sunday Nov 26

trail run 1:07:00 [3]
ran with Pia. Sanna, and Ross at Hale. Really beautiful weather, but I feel guilty for enjoying it because it shouldn't be this warm at this time of year. I shouldn't be enjoying the effects of global warming... but today I did buy dishwashing soap that doesn't have petroleum in it, so I'm doing my part :)
C • nice job!!! 3

Wednesday Nov 22

Orienteering 1:10:10 [2]
picking up Blue Hills Traverse controls with dad and Hill

Sunday Nov 19

Event: NEOC: Blue Hills Traverse

Orienteering 2:13:18 [4]
Blue Hills Traverse. It was fun, but more painful than I remember tha last few years being - I think it's because I have been running less this October and Novemeber - combination of classes and being careful of my ankle. Ankle felt alright - still not healed but wasn't hurting nearly as much as the Highlander where I thought I wasn't going to make it through.

I made a mistake on 5 and 20 (probably others, but those I can remember). On 5 I actually pulled away from the group I was with as I took a better route choice and then their mistake was worse than mine. I saw Ernst leaving 20, but then I messed around in that area for awhile, finally attacking the control from below and through the briars. I saw JJ coming into the control as I was leaving, but stayed ahead of him as I went right around the hill. I didn't realize I was so close to Ernst at the end, but I was pretty spent and it would have been difficult to move much faster.

I had a good race, but not a spectacular one. I was 4th overall, and not too far behind Ross and John at the first check point (3.5 minutes behind after about 6 K). Pavi wasn't there this year to give me a run for my money, which helped me achieve another one of my goals this year - being first woman in the Billygoat, Highlander and Traverse!

I would enter my splits now, but that would just be more procrastinating on writing my paper tha is due tomorrow, sigh.

Traverse - Splits

Saturday Nov 18

road/trail run 37:17 [2]
ran to Cold Spring Park with Ross and did the Exercise trail :) This is only the running part of it. I didn't really work hard enough on the equiptment to warrent counting it - I didn't want to be sore for tomorrow :)

Friday Nov 17

rowing machine 20:00 [3]
the car broke down on the way to orienteering in the Blue Hills and we had to be towed home. It was dark by the time we returned, so I just rowed. I pulled for 1 minute as hard as I could 2 times.

Thursday Nov 16

road run 24:00 [2]
my warm up and cool down. By the end of the cool down it was too dark to see the map! I got home late from work today and so had little time when it was still daylight.
road run 9:00 [4]
2 times around Stoney Lea. I ran 4 halves of it really, stopping for about 30 seconds rest between to look at the next leg in the map I was carrying. Each lap was about 1200m and I was running it in about 4:30.

Tuesday Nov 14

road run 51:00 [2]
running over to Wilson Mountain with dad and then running home arfterwards. We did take the long route n the way there.
trail run 13:48 [4]
I think this may be one of the fastest time I have ever run on this loop. And I slowed down in the middle a bit because dogs started chasing dad. Silly dog owners.

Sunday Nov 12

rowing machine 20:00 [2]
rowed for 20 minutes. The plan was to go running, but it was pouring and I just wasn't up to it.

Saturday Nov 11

Note
Today I took 2 MTELs, which are tests you have to take in Massachusetts to become a teacher. I took 2 four hour tests.... a fun day.
C • Congrats on taking them! I ho... 1

Friday Nov 10

Orienteering 50:00 [3]
ran a nold green course with dad at the Blue HIlls. Took turns with the map.

Thursday Nov 9

trail run 1:04:34 [3]
skyline trail run! I haven't run this in a long time now. The leaves and rocks were a bit wet so the going was slower at times. It was also darkish by the end, so I couldn't run quite as fast as I might have for fear of not seeing some rock or stump and bending my ankle.

Tuesday Nov 7

road run 39:00 [2]
to and from Wilson Mountain
trail run 13:57 [4]
ran the Wilson Mountain trail loop. Fast time, which is nice to see :)

Sunday Nov 5

road run 2:10:10 [2]
out visiting my Grandparents and celebrating my great aunt's 90th birthday. Went on a long run with dad on the rolling roads. Felt good, and the ankle likes being on pavement :)

Friday Nov 3

road run 50:00 [3]
running over to Hammond Pond and back again.
Orienteering 20:00 [2]
orienteering with an old map in Hammond Pond. It was difficult to move myself quickly through the woods and then I thought I was at a control location when I wasn't, and then when going to find the next control I got really off. I didn't have my compass so I was going about 45 degrees the wrong way from the wrong location - I eventually figured it out :)

Thursday Nov 2

road run 40:00 [2]
running over to wilson mountain the long way and back again
trail run 20:00 [3]
threshhold run. My HR monitor wasn't working so well, but my HR seemed high for how hard I was running. I think my HR was around 185.
