Event: North American Championships

Thursday Sep 25

Note
This weekend all my secret training will pay off :) hehe.

Thursday Sep 11

trail run 57:00 [3]
shoes: Montrail
Ran the 10k course at Houghton's Pond that I raced a few years ago. Jogged for the first 15 minutes of the course then ran hard for the rest. About a 12 minutes cooldown. Chasing after Hill while running hard and feel quite out of shape. Also could have been the 3 pieces of chocolate and 10 gingersnaps I ate right before running...

Note
Ross and I no longer have internet at home and I typically have no time at work. Now that it's 8:30pm at work, I have a free moment. Ross and I did speed work yesterday and today my quads are sore. This past weekend I went to Pawtuckaway and had a wonderful time orienteering. I had been feeling a bit out of it, but the weekend, despite the rain, made me remember why I love orienteering and why I have to get my butt out the door to train. Ross beat me by 3 seconds on Sunday, which leads me to believe that he cheated. I'm working on getting him next time :)

Tuesday Sep 9

road/trail run 33:00 [1]
shoes: Asics 1130
After a late night at work I met Ross at home and we went running right before it got completely dark. About a 11 minute warm up and then we did 5x 2 minutes fasrt with 1 minute jogging in between.
trail run 10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 1130
The fast stuff. Good feeling pace. It felt really good to run tonight.

Sunday Sep 7

Orienteering 1:07:00 [3] 7.6 mi (8:49 / mi)
shoes: INOV 8 Muclaw 330
Pawtuckaway, Blue course. A better race than yesterday although still missed a few controls. Ross got me by 3 seconds, but I would have had him had I not stopped for a minute for a bathroom break. That will teach me!

Saturday Sep 6

Orienteering 1:32:00 [3] 8.2 km (11:13 / km)
shoes: INOV 8 Muclaw 330
I meant to bring my watch with me to the library tonight so I could enter in all my trainings and splits, but I forgot it. I think this was about my time. Ross won and he beat me by about 20 minutes, which is rather disheartening. I didn't feel like I was racing until the end. Frankly, I was a bit worried about running such a long course in my condition, but I felt great. Maybe that has something to do with why ROss beat me by so much.
