an attempt at a red course as well. I did alrigt on most of it, missing on control badly. But then the stinging needles became too much for me - I'm a wimp from the Northeast. I caught dad and we bailed out together.

through the blue hills and mostly on the skyline trail with dad and hill. It was pouring rain the whole time an the trails were really stream beds. And the deer flies!!! I would have thought the rain would drive them away but I have never seen so many as we had while running.

the Dedham 4th of July 5 mile road race. And my 1st road race ever :) I've never raced anything longer than 1 mile on a track if you don't count orienteering. It was an experience. I was slower than I had hoped for and dad beat me by 10 seconds. But I had a nice kick in the end and my 5th mile was my fastest! I ran 6:31 for the first mile, 6:40 for the second, 14:10 for mile 3 and 4, and 6:29 for mile 5.

ran with Dad, Hill and 4 other ultra runners around Blue Hills. We were moving pretty slow, until dad got stung by a bee and we ran out of water. Then we were moving quickly towards the finish. Luckily, dad didn't have an allergic reaction. I'd also like to note that I've never been up this high on attackpoint. Then I started doing 2 workouts a day....

ran 6x800 at a fairly easy pace and 30-50 seconds of rest between so I could map read while running them.
3:17, 3:19, 3:19, 3:21, 3:21, 3:21.

ran around the town and in the woods. I was not feeling well on this run. Dad and Ross were running pretty far ahead...
