road/trail run 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 1130
Ran by myself after work. I hope to redevelop my good routine of running and actually training, but it's very easy not too. I've been working until they kick me out of school most days and that's not a good habit to form since school doesn't close until 9:30pm once the year starts! But hopefully that means I can leave, go running, eat dinner, and then even go back if I feel there are things I need to do.

Tuesday Aug 26

road/trail run 29:30 [2]
shoes: Asics 1130
This morning Ross did not get up to go running with me. I knew it was too good to be true :) But I ran faster without him.
C • I slow Angelica down too on... 1

Sunday Aug 24

road/trail run 57:00 [3]

Run with Hill and Ross from our place now to our new apartment! Yes, Ross and I moving in together... again. We are renting a condo that is owned by the same land lady that we have now. We are able to stay in our 4 bedroom apartment and pay half rent for the month of september and then move into the new place on October first. We had a bit of trouble finding a place that suited us, and although this was a bit more expensive than we initially hoped it pay it really is quite nice. The main downside is that we can't grill outside :( But our former roommates moved and bought a condo that is across the street from us. :) so we are near friends and we have a pool, so life will be good. It's also a two year lease, so we won't be leaving to go anywhere for awhile. I also found out that I have to do 3 years of consecutive teaching in order to qualify for professional status and be guaranteed a job every year. So that means a few more years now in this area before we could really think about moving.

road/trail run 31:00 [2]

Ug, I have some back logging to do, but not too much. Went running this morning at 7 (before breakfast) and Ross came with me! My days are busy, and the only way I am going to get out the door is by running in the morning before the activities begin. Tomorrow I hope to do the same thing and Ross says he'll come again :)

Thursday Aug 21

Note
I'm not so much running - unless you count once a week running as training. But I have played a lot of tennis :) Mostly spending the days in school setting up my room for 6 hours a day. Maybe I'll feel like running sometime again soon....

Orienteering 1:09:15 [5] 10.8 km (6:25 / km)
shoes: Falcon O shoes
It seems that I made about 3 minutes of obvious mistakes from comparing splits on attackpoint. One 180 going to #5 which cost me about 1 minute and maybe only 2 minutes on 14, although I find it very hard believe I didn't lose more considering how far I ran trying to relocate. Never have been US champ in F21...

Day 1 of US Champs in Wyoming. Ran up the wrong hill to #3, but otherwise it was pretty straight forward.

Note
Fun first leg of the relay today. Ran very fast and managed to do alright, despite running to two of the wrong forked controls. I had the short fork at the last forked control, which was also nice... :) But I paid for it by having the longer forks earlier.
Orienteering 38:03 [5] 5.1 km (7:28 / km) +55m 7:05 / km

A fun first leg of the WUOC relay. Hung on to the lead pack the whole way and there were a lot of us running together. Although I was behind the pack at the spectator control I navigated cleaning ot the next forked control and finished second, which I think is pretty cool :)

Middle Distance Race at WUOC. Put my route in routegadget http://www.okilves.ee/RG/cgi-bin/reitti.cgi?act=ma...=
I had a shaky start, finding 1 and 2 ok, but then really blowing up on 3 and 4. I tried to follow the swamp on 3, but ended up to the south on a hill, where I actually managed to relocate. My route doesn't look so bad, but for the last bit after I left the swamp I was walking the whole way. There were extra rides in the green and I kept on wondering if they were the ride I was looking for. Then on 4 I think I cut off the trail in a different spot than I thought. I meant to cut north of the three open swamp areas, but I think I cut above the small single open swamp area. I was aware that I might have done that, but then I was trying to figure out where I was with too many possibilities running through my head. Figured I would keep going until the correct swap, since it's rather big, but then was worried that I hit the small one before it. Was on the south end of the swamp for awhile, since the swamp extended further than shown on the map and I thought I was in the right area. Headed north and then saved by seeing the flag and another running coming into it. Then it evened out more, helped by the fact that there was now someone else running around me so I no longer thought I was off the map. Missed #7 by hitting the small swamp to the south of it, which was quite open. Not the clean race I was hoping for, but I survived.
