Friday Oct 31

road run 30:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 1130
I actually enjoyed this run while I was running. Went out around Dedham with Hill and I was practically skipping around with joy. That's what happens when you haven't run in 3 days I suppose.

Red Day 1 - Splits

Wednesday Oct 22

trail run 1:07:12 [3]
shoes: Montrail
Hill was feeling slow and I am slow, so we ran much slower this week. Still pushing hard and legs still burning most of the way, but over 5 minutes slower! Ross says you can't get slower by not training, you just plateau. Training only makes you faster. I think he's lying and I am living proof. (Or maybe it's the amount of candy corns that I eat while doing work at home.)

Tuesday Oct 21

trail run 40:00 [1]
shoes: Asics 1130
running with hill around some new trails which are minutes from my house - Lost Pond reservation in Brookline/Newton.

Friday Oct 17

Orienteering 1:00:00 [2]
blue hills with hill and dad.

Thursday Oct 16

trail run 1:01:06 [4]
Fastest skyline in a long time - maybe ever? Not because I'm in better shape but because Hill amkes me push harder.

Monday Oct 13

road/trail run 1:02:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 1130
Run with Hill, and mom at the beginning. Recounted the movie "The Forgotten" to them which took up quite a bit of the run. It was a bad movie.

Sunday Oct 12

Orienteering 1:20:00 [3]
shoes: INOV 8 Muclaw 330
I forgot my watch so I don't know how long I ran for. Did the Hollis Oringen. Really was botching up the beginning courses, but then got in a better flow. Still very far behind Ross but had a good time.

Friday Oct 10

road run 37:00 [2]
Road run with Hill. I wasn't planning on meeting up with her after work, so I had to borrow all her running clothes. She laughed at me when she saw me in a baggy shirt and mesh shorts to my knees. She said it looked like I was a kid out running with my coach. I guess I don't look like I'mn turning 26 in a week. We meant to run for 45 minutes, but we were fast and the loop took less time than planned.

Thursday Oct 9

trail run 1:03:43 [3]
shoes: Montrail
Weekly skyline trail run with Hill and dad. Felt far more painful than the past weeks. My first thought was that I am out of shape. And then I remembered I ran 5 hours on Sunday, when I usually barely run 5 hours a week. Yeah, that may be it. I'm surprised that I was not the least bit sore after the Highlander though. I guess we were going too slow :)

Wednesday Oct 8

trail run 43:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 1130
Even though I was looking forward to running all day (unusual for me) I still had to push myself out the dorr. I think in my mind running is much more difficult than it actually is. I ran up to Hammond Pond, which takes about 3 minutes and then ran around on the trails. It's a good sized trail network if you want to run for about a half hour or so, but even getting up to 45 minutes required running some sections again. Crossing back over Hammond Pond Parkway to get home is a pain though. That itself took almost 5 minutes or standing and waiting for traffic to ease up.

Sunday Oct 5

Orienteering 4:52:00 [3]
shoes: INOV 8 Muclaw 330
My longest and probably lowest finish in the Highlander so far. Possibly due to the fact that Ross actually ran a good race :) along with many others. Also the 20+ minute error Hill and I made didn't help. Wasn't navigating cleanly and it really showed. Quite tired by the end and so very very tempted to stop early, but Hill made me keep going. Ran with Corrinne and Hill for the second half of the could which was nice. Ran into two bees nests, which was not nice. My poor left calf was stung a total of 3 times and my elbow once.

Guilted into logging again. Skyline with dad. Not as fast we when we ran with Hill, but faster than the time before that.
