Orienteering 17:10 [4]
The prologue. A pretty good race, except for #3, where I was confused and Ross caught me.
Orienteering 41:50 [4]
The Chase. A hard run. I lost most of the pack that caught me at the spectator control, and then ran pretty hard with Andy and someone else for the rest of the race.

The Stampede. Lots of run running the loops, and then ran the last loop mostly with Hill, until she passed me going up the last hill.

Orienteering 19:11 [4]
First Opening Day sprint of the 100 day. Throat really sore, fron being slightly sick and the dry air. Breathing was hard - a difficult run!

Saturday Aug 5

Orienteering 43:40 [5]
The 1st leg of the relay. A really amazing race. I almost botched number 1 badly, not really knowing where I was and hitting the wrong control first. I paniced for a moment, but then wandered further into the green to find mine. I was running with a great group and really moving. And then I made a huge mistake, with about 5 others, on the 3rd to alst control. We all read the reentrants wrong and ended up on the wrong nose. It took us forever to relocate, I think because no one was really willing to go off and leave the group. New Zealand did in fact leave the group to find control, and it's disappointing now to see what place I could have finished in! eventually, while bailing out, I saw the correct spur and finished before others in my lost group, but the damage was done and about 4 teams passed me while I was wandering around. Still, a good race and an awesome relay finish!!
