| road run 2:00:00 [2] | ||
| A long Newton Street-O with dad and Ross. So much warmer today than it has been, but still not relaly melting all that ice. My quads were getting really tired and sore by the end and dad's ankles were bothering him so we cut this run short - which I'm grateful for :) | ||

Friday Mar 9 | ||
| road run 48:00 [1] | ||
| to and from Westfield Hill, plus the runs down in between | ||
| road run (threshold hills) 21:00 [3] | ||
| ran up the Wesfield Street hill 3 times. My heartrate monitor worked!! This is the first time in years that it has actually worked for the entire workout.
Times: 6:56, 6:57, 7:08. HR around 183 the whole time.
Thursday Mar 8 | ||
| rowing machine 30:00 [2] | ||
| 2:16.6
It's very cold out this week and the trails and a lot of the woods are covered in ice, so it's difficult running. I want to run in the woods to escape the cold wind, but I need to run on the roads to stay upright.

| Orienteering 1:40:00 [1] | ||
| Dad and I went to do a memory course at Powisett. It took quite a while :) In the beginning we were moving at a good pace, but near the end I think I was getting tired (maybe it was getting in at 1am last night from North Carolina). Plus, I didn't have spikes on and the trails were so icy I could barely run on some of them. That slowed us down considerably. Slow, but good orienteering training.
And now that I have updated my log, I'm going to bed :) I miss Raleigh weather :( I have a new briuse on my knee from falling hard in the woods today and landing on ice. I can't wait for spring!! (or at least for the trails to be runnable instead of ice rinks.)
Sunday Mar 4 | ||
| trail run 15:00 [1] | ||
| jogging to the start several times. The first time I was checking to see if they had clothing drop. It was chilly this morning! | ||
| Orienteering 1:23:25 [4] 10.32 km (8:05 / km) | ||
| I was really not looking forward to this 10.whatever course, but I felt pretty good the whole way. I again messed up #1. Again because I was somehow getting confused by my compass. I recovered when I hit the trail and continued fine after that. I took the trail when I should have taken the road to #3 and I took a pretty bad route to #6 (was I the only one who decided to cut through the woods and not take the road?). I think I was getting tired near the end and I took a long route to #11 by heading towards the wrong side of the hill and having to curve around. Then of course I fell into the steam and got wet up to my waist while trying to cross the "crossable" part. (I did find the right spot, I just didn't manage to stay on my feet). The numb legs made me run around on the trail to #12.
But :) it went well and I was pleased that I recovered, again, so well after #1.
