road run 35:00 [1]
running to and from the track with dad
track workout 13:30 [3]
Dad and I ran 8 400s, all at 100 seconds with 30-40 seconds rest. It was easier than threshold, but harder than I would run on roads. We had Surebridge Mt. maps that we were reading each lap. For some of the route choice, I was thinking "Well, I'd run and hope to figure out where I was as I went along" Great planning....

Orienteering 1:10:00 [2]
Dad and I went out to pick up the controls we put out for last weekend, but it turns out that someone has already picked them up! So we ran the red course. Oddly enough, there were streamers up at some of the controls, even though we never set streamers. So we took those down :)

Wednesday Apr 18

road run 35:00 [2]
running around on the roads before and a little bit after the threshold workout. We were going to run on the trails, but it;s been raining for the past 3 days nonstop (really, no joke) and the trails are just a bit muddy. That makes it hard to get enough grip to run fast enough. So we decided to do intervals around Stoney Lea circle.
road run 28:00 [3]
Threshold run around Stoney Lea - about 1200 meters. Ran 6 loops with 30-40 seconds of rest between. Ran with a Surebridge Mt. map for this upcomng weekend. Planned the routes during the rest and "ran" the route while running each loop. HR around 183, and it wasn't difficult to get it there. Time were slower than I had hoped and HR was high - which means I'm not quite in the shape I had hoped... still a couple more weeks til team trials though.

Times: 4:37, 4:41, 4:45, 4:40, 4:44, 4:41.

Tuesday Apr 17

road run 1:55:00 [2]
a long road run with Dad around Newton in the rain. Went to spectate the Boston Marathon yesterday. Those people didn't look so tired. And there are so many of them, and they can all do it. But then at almost 2 hours today my knees hurt and I wasn't even running that fast. I still think ever running a marathon would be a bad idea. Of course I tell this to dad and he tells me about a trail marathon at the end of May he thinks we should run.

Sunday Apr 15

Orienteering 15:30 [3]
sprint at the junior training camp. I got stuck once when the trail that went across the river was flooded. I might have crossed it if I was alone, but there was a junior girl there who really didn't want to cross it, but didn't know what to do. So we ran over to the bridge. The rain made it extra fun :)
