road run 26:00 [2]

Monday Oct 1

road/trail run 1:25:00 [2]
A sortof long run around Dedham by myself. The rest of the family is on a bike trip in the Adirondacks, so I went to Dedham to feed the cat and go running. I wanted this to be a longer run, but I had to get back so I could make it to class on time. Plus, I was already adding on more and more to my planned route to make it long enough and I just wanted to be home. My leg is still hurting from the long run I did last week!

Sunday Sep 30

trail run 10:00 [1]
warming up with Hill around the parking area.
Orienteering 58:36 [4]
A much better race. I was navigating well from the beginning and feeling mostly confident with my routes. #5 was a short compass leg and as I was leaving #4 I said to myself "Ok, short compass leg. On short legs you can only lose time, not gain time. So go slowly and make sure you stay on your compass. Even pace count." Of course, I'm saying this to myself as I am running blindly in sortof the right direction after leaving the control the wrong way. Of course, I miss the control, stand around, and then figure it out. I had the right advice, I just didn't listen to myself :) A few more times when I had to stop and relocate later on in the course as well - #8, #12, #15, but overall much better than yesterday and something I can work with!
