| Little Blue Hill sprint that Ross put on. It was a small but dedicated crowd who set out to brave the cold (although tomorrow will be colder). I was running at a fast and confortable pace until #6, where I missed the control by a fair bit, dragging Brendan off. I had been running behind Giovanni, and when I turned around to head back to the control I saw him, then Viktoria and then Jeff punch it and run out. I had to then pick up the pace to catch back up to them all. I had a clean rest of the race and got ahead of Giovanni going to the last control. I struggled a bit going through the brambles to the finish, trying to be fast and aviod the thorns, while still staying on my compass so I wouldn't miss the finish. I ended up wearing too many layers and was quite hot in the end. I won back the zucchini bread that Ross made as prizes - yum :) |

| pcking up controls. I did remove my sweatpants so I was only wearing two layers of pants, but I kept on my hoodie and mittens. Brrr... |

 | road run 45:00 [3] | |

| I went running again with my high school friend from her place in Watertown. This time we ran along the Charles. I feel like I run faster with her than I do when running around at home. I don't know if it's because we're talking so much and I get out of breath, or if I am actually moving faster. But it's a nice faster pace - a just right pace :) |

 | road/trail run 26:00 [1] | |

| A very easy run to stretch my legs. I was running as slowly as I could so as to not hurt my quads, and they felt much better on the trails than on the pavement. Today (Thursday) I can walk down stairs with almost no pain :) |
Tuesday Nov 27 |
 | road/trail run 2:26:00 [2] | |

| Another long run to prepare for the marathon. My legs hurt the most during this run out of all the other long runs I've done so far. Dad and I ran to the Blue Hills from house in dedham, ran around on little Blue Hill and then ran back home. The outer muscle on my left quad hurt after about 20 minutes of running (left over from the 3 hours run Friday), but soon everything above my knees starting getting sore, so I didn't really notice that muscle in particular. How will I ever make it around the marathon??? |

| Hill, Dad and I went for a run up Westfield Street and back again. It wasn't raining when we started running, but started drizzling near the end. My left quad is still a bit sore from the 3 hour run on Friday. |

| A run around Newton with Ross. It's a beautiful day, about 45 degress and sunny. My left outer quad is sore from the long run and really just got more sore as this run went on, but it's just tired. Most of the run was on trails, as I realized that Newton has a large expanse of wooded areas and trails. You can connect most of them with just a little road in between. I rolled my left ankle (the one I sprained last fall) badly off the edge of the sidewalk because it was covered in leaves. I took a few hopping steps and then stopped to assess the damage - none! To my delight, my ankle is fine. It was simply one of those times when you roll it and then have to hop it off. I think that's a good sign for that ankle :) |
