| Dad, Hill and Ross drove down to run the orienteering marathon this weekend. Since I arrived at the library at 9:30 this morning, I have sat in one chair for 6 hours and typed many pages on race, privilege and oppression. Dad, Hill, Ross and a whole bunch of other confused people are probably finished or are just finishing their orienteering marathon. I feel sort of like a fat slug. Albeit one that knows a great deal about institutionalized oppression. |

| I just noticed that my thumb is sore from massaging my foot so much. This realization does not help my feelings of weakness. |

| I might as well admit I'm injured. Lying about it and denying it really hasn't made it go away yet. My right arch has been hurting for awhile (won't go into how long) but it never hurt while running, and was mostly sore in the mornings when I woke up. It never hindered my training. But then I woke up the morning after the Traverse and my heel hurt with every step. I haven't run since then. My criteria for injury is if it is impacting my daily workout schedule, and this is, so I'm just going to admit I'm injured. My planned 2 week running break was extended into a 4 week running break.
The good note is that my heel no longer hurts, and it's back to just being my arch. I took Ibuprofen in the beginning, and I've been streching it a lot and massaging the heck out of it. Zan has been wonderful for advice :) Wearing flat shoes also helps, as I'm on my feet a fair bit during the day. I really need new running shoes (again, won't go into how old they are), and I hope to get some for Christmas :) |

| Climbing up and down the slippery hill looking for a Christams tree with my family! We went to a new cut your own farm today. It was fun, but the guy who owns it doesn't trim the trees or anything. You just set out on the hillside and find one you like, cut it down (usually cutting about halfway up the tree because it's so big) and drag it back down the hill. I picked out the perfect tree and it just fits in the apartment. The very top is bent over from the ceiling, so we may have to trim it to get the star on. Hopefully we'll decorate tonight! |
