Dad, Ross and I met up with Cristina at Prospect Hill for some orienteering. Ross and Dad planned out a course with 21 controls. We started at unknown intervals, then all ran and met up every 5 controls. It was a fun way to constantly be running with others and racing to be the first one to the point. I was the first one to #5, even after going to 5 before 4. Then Cristina beat us all to #10, as Ross and I were standing around totally in the wrong spot. Ross got to #15 first and dad was first to the finish. It was all very fair :) Beautiful weather, which was a change from the rain that was predicted.

Waited for Ross to come home from work because I really didn't feel like going out in the rain by myself. Met Ross at Hammond Pond. We decided to run an old night-o course that was set, although flags and the like are no longer out there.

I was behind Ross until #4 where I ran down the wrong trail, and then hesitated at the wrong feature. Proceeded to "find" #5, only to realize as I was leaving it that I was way off. Took awhile to relocate, and managed to get rather lost a few controls later, and completely blew by the last control. Ross beat me by 6 minutes.... and I spent a great deal of time standing around. Not the physical workout that I wanted it to be, but it was good orienteering training... although I should probably sit down and figure out what went wrong, because I'm really just training bad habits.

No running today. Spending the afternoon in the library trying to concentrate but getting very sidetracked by things like attackpoint. If I get enough work done tonight then I think I'll have time for a quick run tomorrow. Of course that means getting back to work... soon... Having the whole afternoon really just means I can waste more time. I can't start working hard until I only have an hour left and about 2 hours worth of work. Then it all gets done :)
