| Hanging out controls in the morning for my meet tomorrow. Out in the woods longer, as I didn't think it would take so long to hang them, but trying to figure out which side to hang it on and then what to hang it on took longer than I thought. |

| I graduated today! I attended my graduate school (Wheelock) graduation and now have my M.S. in education. The best part was eating Thai food with the family and Ross afterwards :)
I was planning on hanging controls for my meet at Blue Hills on Sunday. But last night when I was planning on driving to the storage locker to get controls, I found out that it actually closes at 7. So dad and I drove there today after graduation and during rush hour. By the time we got back to Dedham it was cold and rainy and I didn't have all my courses planned anyway. So hanging controls will be tomorrow morning, in place of a track workout, and then mom's throwing me a graduation party (even though tomorrow is also her birthday!). Plus, mom and dad bought me a new camera for graduation, which is just what I needed and not what I expected - the best type of gift! All in all, it's been a good day (minus the rush hour traffic). :) |

 | trail run 1:27:15 [3] | |

| Dad and I went to run the skyline trail, and Dad decided that we should run longer than the usual run. So we added on some more, but not exactly the longer skyline route. Humid. |

| Running with Yvonne around Newton on some of the trails and the old pipeline. Then went out to eat and to trivia for Ross's Birthday! |

| Since Tuesdays are half days, Dad and I drive the hour out to Beech Hill to run an old green course. Got stuck in stopped traffic on the way there (car fire) and thought the sprint started at 6 (it was 6:30), so we only ran one course. It turns out we had about an hour to kill when we got to the sprint. |

| Ran an old green course memory-o style with dad.. It went alright. I was confused on one especially when I missed some of the middle of the leg. But it was nice running around in the woods. |

| Running the sprint at Hammond Pond set by Ross. I missed #2, and had trouble reading ahead enough so I was leaving the controls in slightly the wrong direction which cost me some time. |

| Running over to Wilson Mountain with Hill. As soon as I started running I could feel the workout on Sunday. Everytime I stepped back I could feel my muscle from the bottom of my ribs to my knee pull tight. So sore! Especially my abs, |

| Threshold run. Running to the end of the Wilson Mountain loop and back again. TIme halfway was 13:52, which is a good times. The whole time there I was reminding myself that it was downhill on the way back. My legs were tired, but it felt good to run. I don't feel worn down like I did a few weeks ago. |
Sunday May 11 |
 | road run 31:00 [2] | |

| Woke up early (8am is early for a Sunday) and dragged Ross to the track for our first track workout of the year. We jogged over to the Newton South track, which took us 14 minutes to get to, and then 17 minutes to return from. We were tired :) |
 | track workout 4:56 [5] 1.0 mi (4:56 / mi) | |

| Decided to do some 400s for speed. I told Ross that my plan was to run 4 400s in 80 seconds and he said that wasn't enough and it was too slow. I thought it sounded just fine. But I ran them all behind Ross and so ran harder than I would have alone. Times: 72, 74, 75, 75. Running all out - the 200 splits were 34, 34, 36, 36, respectively. About 2 minutes in between each 400. It's amazing how good the first 100 can feel and how bad the last 100 can feel. I'm not sure what would have happened had I tried to run a 5th. I felt a like sick to my stomach after the 4th. I think in order to get a reasonable close time on the 5th I would have had to have more rest. Maybe next time we'll find out... Funny to think about how hard these were, and what I would expect to run if I were racing in a track meet. |
