Note
Ok, time to start logging again. It's so easy to fall behind and then just never catch up. I've been running these past few weeks, with a break last weekend to attend a wedding in NYC.

Ross and I woke up this morning and went to Blue Hills to run a course that Boris set for him. Ross set off first and it was nice to see his footprints sometimes when I was at the feature as a way to confirm. Some controls went ok, others I was a bit confused on. No trails on the map certainly made it harder. I have a hard time tuning out the trails. Also, my legs were much more tired today than yesterday and I found myself walking through the snow quite a bit. My stomach was hurting last night as I went to bed and it started hurting again as I was running. After doing a few more controls with the I'm-about-to-puke feeling I just ran back to the car. Ross came back shortly, after he ran the whole thing. He is currently curled in a ball on the bathroom floor. I think we have some sort of stomach issue going on here.

Ross and I woke up this morning and drove to the Fells to run the course that Brendan set out. Met Brendan there and after a short warmup we started. I went first, with Brendan starting 3 minutes after me and Ross 3 after him. It is so hard to run in the snow. I had a regular map, but they both had contour only maps. But they had run the course before. The grip with my Mudclaws was fantastic, but you break through the surface with every step. On the other hand, it covers up all the rock and you can practically run straight up the sides of cliffs. They both caught me going in to 8, but I stayed ahead to 9 and then made a mistake on 10. I was distracted by them and cut off the trail too soon. I stopped early and they ran by me. Figured it out, but then they were gone as I left 10. Saw Brendan at the end again, as he had to stop to get something out of his shoe. It was an ok race, and I can feel a bit of pride about beating Ross's first time :)
My time is close to correct, but I keep on hitting the wrong button on my garmin so I missed a bit in the beginning.

Really, really didn't want to go running, but I am trying to get myself back in the habit of having to go, whether I want to or not. Got myself out the door which is 90% of the battle and had a very nice run in Hammond Pond. Did 4x3min pickups on the snowy trails. Some were narrow and windy and I felt like I was on a slalom course.
