Sunday Feb 7

xc skiing 1:50:00 [2]

Skate skiing again on Sunday, this time with Ross and SGB. A quick loop of the lower fields and then we skied almost straight up to the cabin and back down again. More intense feeling than yesterday because of all the climb. I even managed to skate up all of it! Lots of fun, and we even got to watch Ali finish her race. I strained some muscle above the back of my left knee on Saturday, and it was hurting a bit when I pushed off at a strange angle on Sunday. Still a bit sore on Monday, but it doesn't seem like anything too bad. Mostly hurts when I lift my leg.

Saturday Feb 6

xc skiing 2:53:00 [2]

Went up to VT with a a bunch of fellow orienteers and a few other people at ski and stay at Ali Crocker's house. Lots of fun skate skiing on Saturday, despite the cold. Ross and I ski about the same speed. My skis were waxed better and I have slightly better technique, so it worked out well for both of us. Lots of fun trails at Sleepy Hollow. Ali gave me some pointers that I worked on in the later afternoon. I had imagined myself skiing more, but I was so tired after the first round of about 2.5 hours that I just couldn't get up again. We came in to get food and I practically fell asleep at the table! Rested a bit more, and then went back out of a short bit. Felt good doing that and I woke up again. Skate skiing is hard work when you're not used to it!

Friday Feb 5

road run 32:00 [2] 3.5 mi (9:09 / mi)
shoes: Asics 2130

I keep on forgetting to wear my garmin. Ran around Lost Pond this morning. Felt great to be out of the stuffy apartment and in the fresh morning air. Trail were a bit icy places and I fell once, but otherwise it was a very pleasant run int he sun!

Went shopping today just to pick up milk.. got a bit carried away and bought some luxury items - strawberry cream cheese, vanilla silk (for coffee), Parmesan goldfish (they were on sale!), and cheez-its party mix (Ross wanted a snack!). That is not going to help my money or weight problems... but the strawberry cream cheese on a fresh Cafe Bagel bagel was heavenly.

lifting/strength 30:00 [2]

Burn with Kearns and extras and ball exercises.

Thursday Feb 4

Note

Sleepy morning. Waking up early to write report cards will be the end of me. Especially since I seem to wake up and spend more time on attackpoint than writing....

Wednesday Feb 3

road/trail run 1:38:00 [2] 10.0 mi (9:48 / mi)
shoes: Asics 2130

Longer run around Dedham with Dad. Went on the Wilson Mountain trails and the trails by Grandma's new place. We were going to call her to tell her to look out the window in 20 minutes, but it's good that we didn't since the trail is actually quite hard to see from her window. But next time we can just run on the lawn. She would probably appreciate that. Some of the trails were quite icy, which we really discovered when the guy who passed us wiped out in front of us. That's what you get for thinking you are faster.

Tuesday Feb 2

road run 50:00 5.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Asics 2130

Dedham then Westfield Hil with map.

Monday Feb 1

road run 28:00 [2] 2.7 mi (10:22 / mi)
shoes: Asics 2130

Run with Dad after a long staff meeting and a long phone call home to a parent.

rowing machine 12:00 [1]

The screen on the erg is broken and I'm constantly wondering if I am slacking as I am erging.
