Friday Jan 26 #

11 AM

spinning 36:00 intensity: (20:00 @2) + (16:00 @4)

10 minute warm up, 4 x 4 minutes with one minute rest between and then 10 minute cool down. On the rests I got off the bike and picked up Sofie so that she was more calm during the intervals. Afterwards we went to join Ross at his work for fika so he could show off Sofie to his coworkers.

I walked for about 45 minutes with the stroller in the morning on the way to the arena (to get Sofie to sleep), and then about another 50 minutes on the way to Ross's work, and then another 50 minutes on the way back home from Ross's work. I'm tired.

Note

Didn't train today, but walked a lot. First about 30 minutes to and from the bus to visit a friend in town. Then walked about 1 hour 45 minutes on the way back, as Sofie was sleeping.

cross trainer 30:00 intensity: (19:00 @2) + (11:00 @4)

Did 10 x 1 minute on the elliptical, though I lost count partway through and afterwards I figured I actually did 11. I found a setting on the elliptical that is running and walking, and it gives you a rpm (is that what it is? I can't remember) to aim for. That's good for keeping the motivation up for that minute.

The women watching Sofie commented that they have never seen another baby who is so interested in her own hands...

cross trainer 35:00 [1]

The spinning class was cancelled, but since I was up at 6am anyway feeding Sofie, I figured I should get up and go to the gym and go on the elliptical. And I did! I amaze even myself sometimes ;)

spinning 45:41 [2]

Spinning intervals. I think we did 4' 3' 2' 4' 3' 2' 4' 3' 3'. I wasn't always listening so closely. When I went to get Sofie afterwards she seemed happy enough staring at a mobile, but apparently she had been crying and wasn't in the best of moods. She was asleep when I dropped her off in the bassinet in the stroller, and I can imagine that she probably cried when she woke up.

On the way home we stopped at a new coffee shop, The Broker Coffee Roastery. We live in a residential area, and near us is a small mall with shops and grocery stores, but no cute coffee shops. This is a new place by the gym, which means it's on the SLU campus, about a 15 minute walk from my house. The owner came out to chat and he seems really nice. Sofie and I were the only ones there the entire time we were there. I hope that business isn't always that slow for them. I'll certainly be going back, but it's not cheap, so I'll have to limit myself :) They do aeropress coffee, which I heard is supposed to taste better? I didn't try it today, but maybe next time I can learn a bit about it.

lifting/strength (rock gympa) 25:33 [2]

Rock gympa! A bit shorter than last week because Sofie had a poop incident.
