Instead of family naptime this morning we did family exercise time! Sofie slept well last night, which made us all extra chipper in the morning. I went to the gym and Ross took Sofie out running in the stroller.

Two building intervals and then 2', 2', 1', 1', 2', 1', 2'. Managed to get my HR above 180 on the final interval!

Sofie skipped her morning nap and was not happy watching me spin today. Tried a bunch of different things without success and I gave up after 10 minutes of warm up and 3 x 2 minutes.

Put Sofie in her stroller and started jogging laps around the indoor track instead. After a few laps she fell asleep, and I did a few more for good measure.

Went to the gym in town for their babysitting session on Thursdays. I missed the bus I wanted, and then the snow made the bus slow, so I was a bit stressed when we arrived. I dropped Sofie off and just did 30 minutes easy on the elliptical. She was unfortunately crying when I went to pick her up - in retrospect probably should have fed her before dropping her off. We'll try again another week!

Did 10 minutes warm up, then 5 x 2 minutes with 2 minute rests between.

Erging. The woman next to me was lifting the bar over her knees as she was sliding forward. Hill would have been appalled.

7:15am spin class. Sofie is really struggling with sleep. She sleeps soundly for 60-70 minutes and then wakes crying... loudly. She doesn't know how to settle herself back down to sleep alone, which is normal for this age, but it's hard on us! So we tend to alternate who gets up to rock her and sing to her for a few minutes to get her to go back to sleep. And sometimes it takes longer if she is really wailing.

Anyway, getting up at 6:30 didn't seem so bad. Plus I love this class. It's so nice to have the workout done before sunrise! Went on a 2 hour walk with Sofie in the stroller this afternoon and she did a great job sleeping. Maybe it will translate to night sleep too!

It's the first time I've been to this class, as last week there was a substitute. It's just spinning - no intervals. I tried to go hard in sections to make it more interval-y, but the instructor didn't explain what was coming next or how long we were doing certain sections, so it was hard to know if my interval was going to be 30 seconds or 4 minutes. Keeps it exciting I guess! Annika was there as well, and we were among the 5 people under the age of 60.

Afterwards I ate lunch there with Annika, and then we went to the new coffee shop down the street. Did a longer walk with Sofie on the way home and we didn't get home until after 3pm. A good long outing for the day!
