Last day of skiing and I headed out skate skiing by myself. I wore thinner gloves as it was only -4C and my fingers were so cold in the beginning. It encouraged me to move faster! It was busier this morning as it was Saturday, but almost everyone classic skis, so the skate path was always empty. I get stressed trying to pass people when it's crowded and I'm classic skiing.
I started with the road sections mostly today, and did two new small sections that I had never done before in past visits. The far ends of the road were very empty and on that small loop I was the only person out there in the bright sun and blue skies.
Coming back I stopped my watch for a picture and missed about 2-3km of skiing. I then cut through the forest to the marsh trail and skied that back up to the main trail. I cut again over to the upper marsh loop and really enjoyed skiing that. It's almost all flat, but it felt like it was downhill the whole way.
I felt like I could have skied forever but I thought it smart to quit while I was ahead.

I still have to lift my left leg if I want it to move up. Skate skiing though feels great, and so I went out on the 16km with Elisa. It’s out the big road but then a lovely loop in the flat marshes. Very flat, but that was fine since my legs are pretty sore. Quite a headwind at the beginning, but then it was nice on the way back.
Sofie went up the faster t-bar lift today. She fell twice when trying to get on, and got dragged along on her head for a bit, but she tried again and made it up!

I have to lift my legs in order to move them up - like when trying to lift up your foot to put in a shoe, or step over something. So sore from the classic ski yesterday, but skate skiing uses different muscles apparently! So sunny and beautiful out there (I have photos on Strava!)

Did my favorite loop here which is mostly a single track up and down through the forest. Ended at the alpine slope where Ross was skiing with Sofie. Monday was her first time ever on Nordic or alpine skis. She can go up the short t-bar and ski down holding onto a pole.

Up in Orsa for a week with another family. A bit chaotic today, but all the adults got out to ski and Sofie and Amelie got to downhill ski. Their afternoon activity was climbing snow piles.
I skate skied with Elisa as she classic skied.
