A ride too far (or too fast). Wanted to test out my new Specialized Rockhopper so rode out to the Warts run to get a lift back. Up through the parks, up bastard hill, over houndkirk to the grouse inn. Strong headwind again! Being on my own at night I went a bit faster than I have been doing, stomach now sore, feeling rough. Back to rest/slow riding

First Uni Girls MTB ride - out through parks, Lady Cannings, Houndkirk which has been completely WRECKED!!! They've taken all the fun out of it!! Headwind and rain here was freezing, then had to fix Alice's puncture. Caption comp pictures to follow ('how many girls does it take to change an inner tube') .Fox house for lunch - nice to warm up!

Then Blacka Moor and Eccy woods home. I wore 6 layers today - its winter!

Me and Zanthe went Mountain Biking at the D&W challenge. Not great prep with a house full of people coming in throughout the night ;-) but what did I expect. Very small breakfast just before we started then tried to get the balance between not eating much to prevent stomach hurting and not eating enough and bonking right. 6 biscuits just about got me round with minimal stomach problems.

Beautiful day for it - we were immediately above an inversion layer and was nice to find all the routes around my house in New Mills that I know nothing about! Forgot how much I love riding a mountain bike :-) Can't wait to be able to train harder again!

We were first women in the 17-39 cat! Just wait until Zanthe gets suspension!!

2x3min, (60s rec) then 4x2min(30s)1min(30s)30s(90s) floating recovery.

First couple of efforts managed to keep a reasonable pace with ahr of about 160...then stomach kicked in so first 3 sets of 2,1,30 were very slow - ahr about 148....Then I decided to see how much I could push it on the last set ahr around 170/175 and dropped off as the set went on.

Good to be out training though, if I hadn't gone to intervals I think I would have done nothing!

Total guess of the distance....MTBO on Tankersley, my first and last MTBO in Britain this year!

Awesome area! Definitely getting out there more often!

Rode very steadily, felt so much better than wednesday, maybe I'll stick to a bit of biking for now! Stomach not happy with the only proper hill on the course though so maybe riding anywhere else in Sheffield will be less successful....we shall see...

DPFR run - stomach is wrecked, ran very slowly, in fact found it hard to keep up and not have stabbing stomach pains for the first bit while we were all together with the faster lot who were going to do the longer run. Found out I can run up Heros without putting in effort though! Up in 9:37, so much easier and springier than I found it in a similar time this time last year so no lack of fitness. :-)

Going to have to get used to slow for a bit....
