cycling 1:00:00 [4]

Set up the turbo trainers in the garden so liz could get used to her new pedals and shoes, did a session involving 10mins warm up, 5 min 'hill' with harder effort on 3rd and 5th minute followed by 3mins recovery then 8 sprints of 12 seconds with 30 seconds recovery between. After a rest of 5 minutes we did a final long 'hill' for 10 minutes then 10 minutes warm down. 1st real effort on the muscles in ages!

Core 10:00 [3]

Post cycle core training on exercise ball and garden patio. Stomach muscles didnt no what had hit them i dont think....sit ups on the exercise ball followed by full body crunches, leg lifts and back extensions and a chair for good measure!

orienteering race 1:17:40 [4] 5.9 km (13:10 / km)

Oringen - Day 5:
Absolutely dead from the start, was really slow going tough running which i didnt handle well. Think i hold the record for slowest run in ever! However i spiked everything kind of with minor wander at 5 and 7 due to dehydrated tiredness. Apparently every1 else suffered today too so i came 11th :-) climbed 11 places in the chasing start from 32nd to 21st overall - much better oringen than last yr!

orienteering race 48:32 [4] 5.5 km (8:49 / km)

Oringen - Day 4:
Chair lift to the start! pushed it a bit harder today as there were long legs with not much on so just point compass and go style was used, was exhausted by the end but pulled off 10th wooo!

orienteering race 1:05:45 [4] 5.8 km (11:20 / km)

Oringen - Day 3:
Felt much easier running today, had one 10 min ish faff at no 2 but apart from that spiked everything. Felt a bit nackered by the end, all this non training... back down the ranks to 32nd today

orienteering race 40:33 [4] 3.5 km (11:35 / km)

Oringen - day 2:
Took it really easy as the wankle didnt enjoy the uneven rocky ground. By some miracle i was still moving fast enough and didnt miss a thing, woo clean run! improved the result from yesterday by 37 places to finish 14th!! best position in sweden to date!

Event: Oringen 2008

orienteering race 1:40:53 [4] 5.5 km (18:21 / km)

Oringen - Day 1:
Got off to a good start, spiked everything up until 6 then got across the mjority of the way to 7 before spending about 20 extra minutes in the control circle not finding the control.
This wouldnt have been quite as catastrophic had i not repeated it 2 controls later at no 10.....oops....well that left me 51st out of 59 finishers....

Swimming 1:30:00 [3] 0.5 km (3:00:00 / km)

Swimming in stoud pool with Helen! Attempted some 200m reps but wankle is truely very rubbish, could only handle 75m without hurting and so it wasn't very successful!
Retreated to do some aqua running
I am not very happy with how much it hurts currently! Another trip to the physio before oringen i think, might not even run all of oringen....

Tennis 1:00:00 [2]

Fear not! I have not broken the no running plan!
Having not played tennis in a good 3 years me and clare went out for a practicing shots that didnt involve running session! I can now hit a tennis ball with aim and everything again!

Note

Boooo hissy to the non healing that is going on! 17 days and it is not getting any better! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr im getting bored of not training in any shape or form!
I am also eating much more than i usually do due to 3 big meals a day served at the R.A.C - im sure this combination is not a good one.....
